Join Deloitte Forensic as a Director in Sydney or Melbourne and lead complex financial crime work that helps organisations strengthen trust, respond to risk and build more effective prevention and detection programs. 

 

What will your typical day look like? 

 

From transaction monitoring uplift and customer screening transformation to fraud, sanctions and scams response, you'll lead engagements that help clients improve how they identify, manage and respond to financial crime risk. This could mean shaping advisory work, overseeing implementation activity, or guiding operate-style engagements with a clear focus on quality, practicality and outcomes. 

 

Working closely with senior client stakeholders, you'll scope projects, manage budgets and timelines, and lead multidisciplinary teams spanning consulting, operations, data, technology and regulatory capability. Complex information needs to become clear recommendations, practical actions and high-quality deliverables that clients can use with confidence. 

 

Beyond delivery, this is a role with real influence on the growth of the practice. You'll contribute to proposals, develop senior relationships across client and Deloitte networks, coach team members, and build eminence in your specialist area through thought leadership and market engagement. 

 

About the team 

 

Deloitte Forensic is a market-leading practice in Australia, bringing together professionals from consulting, law enforcement, regulation, operations, data analytics, technology and legal backgrounds to help clients navigate complex financial crime challenges. Our Financial Crime team works across advisory, implementation and operate-style engagements for local, regional and global organisations, supporting critical work across AML/CTF, sanctions, fraud and scams. 

 

Enough about us, let's talk about you 

 

You may have all or some of the following skills/experiences: 

 

  • 8+ years' experience in financial crime from consulting, industry, regulation or law enforcement 

  • Deep capability in one or more of AML/CTF, sanctions, fraud or scams 

  • Experience leading complex advisory, implementation or operational financial crime engagements 

  • Strong knowledge of financial crime data and technology, including transaction monitoring, customer screening or risk systems 

  • Experience uplifting, optimising or managing financial crime programs or operational teams 

  • Strong experience managing teams in transaction monitoring, data analysis, or data science projects including  

  • data model design and data preparation/ETL build 

  • model development, implementation, documentation 

  • on-going validation & optimisation of models/rules/scenarios 

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including with senior technical and non-technical audiences 

  • A track record developing commercial opportunities, proposals or senior client relationships 

  • Working rights in Australia as a Permanent Resident or Australian Citizen
