About the Team
Our Engineering Strategy & Architecture team partners with clients to align technology strategy, enterprise architecture, cloud adoption, and operating models with business objectives—shaping technology-enabled transformations that deliver measurable outcomes. We translate ambition into executable roadmaps, robust architectures, and value-focused delivery models.
We lead in Generative AI (GenAI), helping clients accelerate innovation, reimagine business models, and deliver human-centred solutions responsibly. We design governance, risk, and architecture patterns that enable trustworthy adoption and tangible value, informed by Deloitte’s global research, alliances, and delivery experience.
As a Director, you will balance time across sales, practice management, and delivery. You will originate and convert opportunities, oversee a portfolio of engagements, and empower multidisciplinary teams to deliver with quality. You will own senior stakeholder and executive relationships alongside Partners and be accountable for project success across scope, schedule, quality, and value.
We are hiring for expertise in:
-
Technology strategy and operating model design
-
Enterprise and solution architecture
-
Cloud strategy and transformation
-
Business case and TCO modelling
-
Architecture governance and tooling
Location & Experience
-
Location: Flexible across Australia
-
Experience: 10+ years of relevant experience preferred (flexible based on capability and impact)
What will your typical day look like?
You will shape and convert opportunities, steward delivery across multiple engagements, and grow our people and offerings. You will champion responsible GenAI adoption—internally and with clients—ensuring patterns, controls, and architectures deliver secure, explainable, and measurable outcomes.
-
Project Delivery
-
Oversee 2–4 concurrent engagements (typically 2–3 active plus business development), setting delivery approach, governance, resourcing, and success measures.
-
Retain ownership of executive and buyer relationships; lead critical moments such as mobilisation, design decisions, risk reviews, and steerco forums.
-
Assure quality and outcomes: establish governance, oversee RAID and dependencies, manage vendors and alliances, and ensure on-time, in-budget delivery.
-
Leverage Deloitte’s local and global SME network to ensure your project delivery teams are appropriately supported by domain experts.
-
Business Development
-
Originate and shape opportunities with account teams; lead account planning, pipeline shaping, and value hypotheses aligned to client priorities.
-
Run strategic bids end-to-end: form and direct bid teams, craft tailored proposals, develop solution and delivery approaches, estimates, and commercials.
-
Lead orals and client showcases; articulate differentiated stories that connect strategy, architecture, cloud, and GenAI to measurable outcomes.
-
Build and deepen executive relationships; jointly lead accounts with Partners to drive growth and long-term client value.
-
Lead or support alliance go-to-market plays for priority offerings and sectors, leveraging assets and accelerators where relevant.
-
Practice Contribution
-
Build high-performing teams: mentor and develop Managers, Senior Managers, and emerging leaders; foster inclusive, psychologically safe environments while encouraging high-performance & outcomes.
-
Govern and evolve our methods: uplift delivery standards, architecture governance, quality assurance, and risk management across the portfolio.
-
Develop IP and offerings: reference architectures, decision frameworks, value-modelling assets, and responsible GenAI operating models and controls.
-
Champion internal GenAI adoption: uplift tooling, patterns, and ways of working to improve productivity and quality across the practice.
-
Support workforce planning, recruitment, and communities of practice to scale capability nationally.
Capabilities & Experience
You bring significant domain expertise, a track record of origination and conversion, and proven delivery leadership across complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
-
Role-Specific Capabilities
-
Proposal Writing: Lead complex bids end-to-end; craft win themes and narratives; coordinate SMEs; develop pricing, SoWs, and risk positions.

-
Core Consulting Capabilities
-
Strategic Thinking: Connect business strategy to target states, portfolios, and roadmaps; prioritise investments by value, risk, and feasibility.
-
Communication & Facilitation: Lead executive workshops and steerco; simplify complexity; frame options and drive decisions.
-
Problem Solving: Apply hypothesis-led, data-driven approaches; structure ambiguous problems; balance trade-offs and guide outcomes.
-
Stakeholder Leadership: Build trusted relationships with C-suite and senior leaders; navigate governance and negotiate commitments.
-

-
Data, Integration, and Security: Shape strategies for data platforms, API-led and event-driven integration, identity and access, zero-trust and privacy-by-design, aligned to regulatory obligations.
-

-
