About the Role
As a Director in the Strategy & Transformation team, you will lead large-scale consulting projects for clients in energy & resources, and this role is primarily focused in the power, utilities and renewables market. You will be working with electricity, water and gas retail and network businesses responsible for:
- Client Pursuits & Business Development: Lead the identification of client needs, shape project proposals, and drive business development through to successful sales
- Project Leadership & Delivery: Manage the end-to-end delivery of multiple, concurrent projects, ensuring high-quality outcomes that meet client expectations and deadlines
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor diverse teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, learning, and growth across both virtual and in-person settings
- Strategy Expertise: Apply deep knowledge of strategy design methods, including corporate, portfolio and functional strategy.
- Transformation Expertise: Apply understanding of strategy execution and corporate capability development to support senior client leaders to design and mobilise transformation. In particular, strategy and transformation required to help power and utilities businesses with their changing role and to establish and manage a network of the future.
- Executive Client Engagement: Build and nurture relationships with senior stakeholders, guiding them through complex strategic decisions and ensuring alignment with their business objectives
You will also:
- Collaborate with Deloitte’s specialists in design thinking, digital, data analytics, and other global networks to deliver innovative solutions
- Work in a dynamic and diverse environment, contributing to projects that will shape the future of the energy transition and sustainability landscape
About Your Experience
To excel in this role, you will need:
- Consulting Experience: Significant experience in a Tier 1 consulting firm, boutique strategy house, or a senior internal advisory role, with a proven track record as a trusted business advisor to senior client leaders
- Industry Expertise: Strong background in the power, utilities and renewables sector, ideally with exposure to strategy, innovation, and an understanding of the operations and asset management, technical/engineering aspects of the businesses. A strong understanding of the Electricity Markets in Australia, energy policy and the regulatory environment.
- Leadership & Project Management: Demonstrated experience leading large, complex projects and managing cross-functional teams across multiple states/geographies
- Client Relationship Management: Proven ability to build and maintain senior relationships with top-tier clients, offering strategic advice and driving impactful outcomes
- Problem Solving: Expertise in using a hypothesis-driven approach to diagnose and solve complex business challenges
- Business Development: Success in leading client pursuits, developing winning proposals, and growing a network of relationships in the market
- Team Development: A passion for growing and developing junior team members, creating a culture of mentorship and continuous learning
