Deloitte’s Risk and Regulatory Consulting practice is seeking a distinguished leader to join our Sydney team as a Director. This senior role is designed for a professional with deep expertise in risk and regulatory advisory, ready to make a strategic impact across Australia’s premier Banking and Capital Markets institutions.
 
As Director, you will drive client success by supporting leaders of Australia’s most iconic financial services organisations on complex risk, compliance, and control challenges. You will contribute to the success of enterprise-wide transformation initiatives, guiding clients through regulatory change and emergent risks to safeguard their customers and shareholders’ interests.
 
Your mandate includes leading high-performing teams, fostering a culture of excellence and growth, and ensuring the continuous development of our consulting talent. You will champion Deloitte’s reputation for delivering innovative, data-driven solutions, leveraging global insights to build client resilience in an evolving regulatory landscape.
 
What will your typical day look like?
•    Providing strategic advisory to clients on risk, control, and compliance frameworks, embedding best practice and operational excellence.
•    Leading and mentoring project teams, developing capabilities across risk and regulatory disciplines, and nurturing future leaders within the practice.
•    Managing key client relationships, delivering actionable insights and recommendations to senior management and executive stakeholders.
•    Overseeing enterprise change programs, ensuring regulatory priorities and stakeholder interests are addressed in transformation delivery.
•    Driving business growth through market engagement, thought leadership, and the pursuit of new opportunities, contributing to Deloitte’s profile and impact.

Enough about us, let's talk about you.
You are an influential leader with proven advisory experience in financial services, ideally within banking and capital markets. Your technical expertise encompasses enterprise risk management, compliance, and the design and implementation of contemporary frameworks across the Three Lines of Defence.
 
Your 10+ years of experience demonstrate:
•    Exceptional commercial acumen and strategic problem-solving capabilities
•    Effective communication and facilitation skills, able to build trust and influence at all organisational levels
•    Experience delivering risk and / or regulatory transformation initiatives
•    Strong business development credentials, with the ability to create compelling thought leadership and engage with the market
•    A passion for developing talent and fostering a high-performance culture
 
Prior professional services experience is advantageous, as is exposure to complex regulatory topics such as operational resilience, and risk management across a diversity of material risk classes.
