About the team
Global General Counsel provides legal guidance and expertise to Deloitte Global, the broader Deloitte organization, and our business leaders. We advise on regulatory, claims, and corporate legal matters, as well as additional issues that may pose novel or unique situations.
What will your typical day look like?
The Deloitte Global Office of General Counsel (OGC) is seeking a Director-level Legal Operations & Transformation Leader who will be responsible for driving operational excellence, managing strategic transformation, and leading high-impact special projects within the Deloitte Global Office of the General Counsel (Global OGC). This individual will work closely with senior legal and business stakeholders, leveraging technology, data, and best practices to provide operational support to a high-performing, future-ready legal team. The Legal Operations & Transformation Leader will report directly to the Deputy General Counsel, Corporate & Operations, ensuring alignment with broader legal strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor a high-performing legal operations team of 5 professionals. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning, providing mentorship, guidance, and development opportunities to ensure a high-performing and collaborative team environment.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans that align legal operations with Deloitte Global’s organizational objectives, identifying opportunities for process improvement, automation, and operational efficiency across the legal department.
- Transformation: Lead the development and execution of transformation strategies that align legal operations with broader organizational goals. Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and efficiency across the legal department.
- Technology & Innovation: Evaluate, select, and (where appropriate) deploy legal technology solutions to enhance productivity of the legal department.
- Change Management: Champion change initiatives within the legal department and with key stakeholders to facilitate and support successful adoption of new processes and technologies within the legal team.
- Special Projects: Lead and manage a wide range of special projects across Deloitte Global OGC, working closely with Global OGC leadership, and across the larger OGC community within Deloitte, collaborating with OGC teams across the Deloitte network. In leading special projects, mobilize cross‑functional teams, define clear objectives, execute on agreed objectives, and measure project impact.
- Budget & Vendor Management: Develop and manage the legal department’s budget, with support from the others on the Operations team and the Global OGC leadership team. Oversee relationships with external vendors, including law firms and technology providers, to maximize value and minimize risk.
- Collaboration: Build strong relationships and work closely with the General Counsel, Deputy General Counsels, other members of Global OGC, and other business functions (e.g., IT, Finance, Procurement) on strategic projects.
- Legal Operations Community of Interest: Lead the Legal Operations Community of Interest (COI) across the Deloitte network, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing among member firms and Deloitte Global attorneys.

- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in legal operations, transformation, or related roles within a legal department or law firm, preferably with a multi-national corporate or professional services provider. Experience leading large-scale change initiatives and operational improvements.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree and a Juris Doctorate (JD), Bachelor of Laws (LLB), or equivalent legal degree from a highly regarded law school.
- Leadership: Strong people management skills with experience building, leading, and developing teams in dynamic environments.
- Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans, influence senior stakeholders, and drive organizational change.
- Technical Acumen: Deep understanding of legal technology platforms, data analytics, and process automation tools.
- Project & Change Management: Expertise in project management methodologies and change management best practices.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; able to communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences.
- Business Acumen: Strong understanding of the business environment, financial management, and vendor relationships.
- Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset with the ability to identify root causes, develop solutions, and deliver results in ambiguous situations.
- Collaboration: Ability to build effective partnerships across departments and with external partners.
- Agility: Passionate about learning and expanding your expertise, with the flexibility to tackle a wide variety of matters across Global OGC.
