What will your typical day look like?

This role leads firewall policy audits to ensure compliance with Deloitte security policies, standards, and best practices, and tracks the remediation of audit findings. It advises stakeholders on secure firewall designs and compensating controls, responds to firewall audit requests to support compliance approvals, and contributes to the ongoing evolution of firewall architecture and global audit methodologies. The role also supports the development of automated and AI‑enabled firewall audit capabilities in cloud environments such as AWS and Azure, participates in Agile/Scrum delivery of firewall audit tools and services, and collaborates with internal teams, member firms, vendors, and external partners to continuously improve audit processes and tooling.

Working closely with teams delivering firewall compliance requests and related projects, you will support and develop others by providing guidance on information security concepts, issues, standards, and policies.

Adopting a knowledge sharing mindset, you’ll contribute to the drafting and editing of firewall‑related standards, policies, and guidelines, as well as developing and maintaining firewall risk models, methods, and procedures.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of professional experience, including a minimum of 2 years in network or information security
  • Experience supporting or participating in security operations, firewall management, or security control
  • assessments
  • Strong foundation in security operations and security systems management
  • Working knowledge of security frameworks and regulations, including NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO 27001/27002, SANS Top 20 Critical Security Controls, SOX, and CFR Part 11
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking concepts, architectures, and controls
  • Strong knowledge of network security technologies, including firewall and UTM platforms, architectures, and implementation patterns
  • Understanding of internet protocols and services such as HTTP/S, DNS, TLS, and related security considerations
  • Familiarity with enterprise networking concepts including routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and security monitoring tools
  • Understanding of information security principles and policy enforcement practices
  • Familiarity with Agile or Scrum delivery models for technology or security platform development

 

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s or undergraduate degree in Information Security, Information Technology, Computer Science,
  • Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Experience with next generation firewall technologies
  • Familiarity with platforms such as Check Point, Palo Alto Networks
  • Exposure to host based firewalls, network based VPN solutions, and SIEM or logging platforms is a plus
  • Industry recognized security certifications preferred (e.g., CCNA Security, Cisco Certified Security
  • Professional, Check Point CCSA, Palo Alto Networks certifications)
