This is a fantastic opportunity to join Deloitte’s Business Modelling (DBM) team, supporting Deloitte’s Financial Advisory Business by creating insightful and value-add modelling solutions to help businesses enhance stakeholder value in a high-performing team.

 

About the team 
Deloitte  Business Modelling takes complex business problems and breaks them down to their simplest components, in order to provide insights into key drivers affecting business decisions. Business modelling lies at the heart of many big decisions. Recognition of this has led to the rapid growth in the use of business models; decision makers increasingly see high quality modelling as a key requirement. 

 

This is a client facing role where you will build your communication and client management skills. You will work in a well-supported team where our client engagements re-enforce our status in the Sydney market as an elite modelling team. Deloitte Business Modelling offers a unique financial advisory experience.

 

The role is based in Deloitte’s Sydney office and supported by a large national and global team. Our team prides itself on providing learning opportunities to encourage and support continuous development. This includes monthly national training specific to business modelling, whole of firm role-based training with a focus on soft skills and opportunities to pursue external studies relevant to your area of interest . 


What will your typical day look like?
Expect to grow and be challenged as you work across different projects and a diverse portfolio of clients. With an analytical yet creative mind, you will undertake qualitative and quantitative analysis to uncover solutions to complex problems and present them to your clients. 

 

As a Manager or Associate Director in DBM, you will have the opportunity to be involved in a wide range of projects and sectors, where you will:
•    Take a lead role, supporting clients throughout decision making processes, using outstanding technical and commercial skills on transactional and strategic mandates 
•    Oversee the design, development and review of high-quality financial  models for a range of client sectors 
•    Take responsibility for delivering engagements   being primary client relationship holder and build credibility for the team 
•    Support business development initiatives 
•    Actively promote knowledge sharing within the national, APAC and global modelling teams, coach junior team members and influence and drive the overall DBM strategy 
•    Analyse and interpret to draw meaningful insights at strategic and operational level

 

Enough about us, let’s talk about you
You  will have the following:
•    A passion for financial modelling and problem solving
•    Advanced Microsoft Excel skills 
•    Experience of building, maintaining and effectively managing client relationships 
•    Strong business diagnostic skills and the ability to apply a logical and analytical approach to problem solving 
•    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) and the ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical staff 

 

Ideally you will have five to eight years’ proven financial modelling experience with advanced Excel skills, detailed understanding of, and ability to model, financial statements complemented by excellent commercial acumen and consulting capability. Working in an innovative environment, you will be confident and able to communicate clearly with all levels of staff and clients. You will have the initiative to solve problems, have a high attention to detail and enjoy working within a team.
