Data Migration Tester

What will your typical day look like? 

You will work with the Test Manager, business analysts, developers and migration teams to plan and run data migration testing across source, staging and target systems. Your day might include reviewing migration rules and mappings, designing test cases, running SQL-based validation and reconciliation checks, and investigating data issues to find the root cause. 

You will also look at the wider impact of migration on business processes and systems, identifying where functional regression testing is needed and supporting that testing where required. Along the way, you will track defects through to closure, prepare clear evidence and updates, and support mock migrations, cutover activities and post-migration validation to help deliver a smooth outcome for clients.

This role sits in our growing Technology Consulting practice, working with a diverse team of specialists to deliver innovative technology solutions for clients. It is a collaborative, supportive team that values quality, learning and solving complex problems that create real business impact. 

Enough about us, let's talk about you. You may have all or some of the following skills / experiences: 

• Experience in data migration, ETL, data testing or functional testing 

• Strong SQL skills for data validation and reconciliation 

• Experience on banking projects across core banking or transactional data 

• Ability to design and execute migration test scenarios and test cases 

• Understanding of source-to-target mapping and transformation rules 

• Experience identifying functional regression impacts from migration changes 

• Ability to execute functional testing to support migration delivery 

• Experience using Jira, Azure DevOps, qTest or similar tools 

• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills 

• Exposure to AI, GenAI or agentic testing approaches is advantageous
