About the Role:
Are you curious about the world of people data? Do you love to work with data which is dynamic and always evolving? We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Consultant to join our Talent Analytics team. In this role, you will have the chance to work with data that represents your own employee journey and ensure that the firm is using the highest quality data to provide strategic insights into workforce trends and employee experience.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in enhancing our data infrastructure and analytical capabilities in Talent. As the Talent Analytics Data Engineer, you will be instrumental in connecting data points across the employee lifecycle, ensuring quality, accuracy, timeliness and optimisation of our data warehouse initiatives and ETL workflows, contributing significantly to our strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Architecture & Management: Design, develop, and maintain robust data architectures and ETL pipelines to support our evolving data needs.
- Data Warehouse Implementation: Lead efforts in migrating and integrating employee data sources into our centralised data warehouse, ensuring only the highest quality employee data products are created and are seamlessly connected with other business data.
- Tableau Workflow Optimisation: Optimise and manage existing Tableau Prep workflows, ensuring they align with the new data architecture. This includes updating data sources, improving workflow efficiency, and maintaining documentation.
- Data Quality Assurance: Establish and maintain data validation and testing protocols to ensure data integrity. This involves identifying data discrepancies, implementing quality checks, and collaborating with analysts to address data issues.
- Collaboration & Innovation: Work closely with data analysts, Talent SMEs, and cross-functional teams to deliver insights that drive informed decision-making across the organisation.
Essential Skills:
- Previous experience in data engineering or related roles, including data pipeline design and delivery.
- Strong expertise in SQL and experience with cloud platforms like Databricks. Experience with Fabric or similar AI tools is an advantage.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate with cross-functional teams, managing multiple priorities effectively.
- Knowledge of data profiling and cleansing tools, along with experience in implementing data quality frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with Tableau Prep and Tableau Server (or similar), focusing on workflow optimisation and automation.
- Keen attention to detail and a desire to ensure all data is of the highest quality.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex data issues and propose innovative solutions.
- Previous experience with HR data is not necessary however, curiosity and a willingness to understand dynamic, complex and context-dependant data is needed.
