Consultant – Performance Improvement & Restructuring

 

This is your opportunity to join Deloitte’s growing Performance Improvement & Restructuring (PI&R) team. Working alongside experienced restructuring, turnaround and performance improvement professionals, you will help clients navigate complex business challenges, improve performance, manage financial stress and position their organisations for long-term success.

As a Consultant, you will work with a diverse range of clients across the public and private sectors, supporting critical transformation, turnaround, restructuring and stakeholder advisory engagements. About the Team

Deloitte’s Performance Improvement & Restructuring team helps organisations respond to periods of change, complexity and financial pressure. We work with boards, executives, lenders, investors and government stakeholders to improve business performance, manage risk, enhance resilience and create sustainable value.

Our team combines strategic thinking, financial analysis and practical implementation experience to support clients across a broad range of situations, including:

  • Business performance improvement and transformation
  • Turnaround and restructuring advisory
  • Financial and operational reviews
  • Cash flow and liquidity management
  • Independent business reviews
  • Stakeholder and lender advisory
  • Distressed M&A support
  • Strategic options assessments and scenario modelling

What Will Your Typical Day Look Like?

This role will provide the opportunity to:

  • Work on high-profile turnaround, restructuring and performance improvement engagements across a range of industries.
  • Analyse financial and operational data to identify key business issues, risks and opportunities.
  • Support the development of strategic recommendations and practical improvement plans for clients.
  • Build financial models, undertake business analysis and prepare clear, insightful reports and presentations.
  • Work directly with senior client stakeholders, including management teams, boards, lenders and investors.
  • Collaborate with specialists across Deloitte’s broader Strategy, Risk & Transactions practice.

Enough About Us, Let’s Talk About You

You are an ambitious and curious professional with:

  • 1–3 years of experience in consulting, restructuring, corporate finance, transaction services, banking, insolvency, accounting, financial advisory or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial and operational information.
  • An interest in helping organisations solve complex challenges and improve performance.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A collaborative approach and desire to work in a high-performing team environment.
  • Commercial awareness and an ability to think critically about business issues.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering exceptional client service.
  • A degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business or a related discipline.
  • Progress towards or completion of a professional qualification, for example CA (desirable) or CPA
