We are seeking an exceptional Data Scientist to join the M&A Analytics team! This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact the the future of tools that are used accross the M&A lifecycle.
What will your typical day look like?
- Build and improve AI features for M&A workflows using modern AI models, prompt patterns, and supporting code
- Support pipeline development across data extraction, retrieval (RAG), and basic validation (with guidance from senior engineers)
- Testing and evaluation: contribute to test sets, quality checks, and regression testing for prompts and workflows
- Deploy with support: help ship and run AI services in development and production environments using team tooling and processes
- Learn observability basics: assist with monitoring, logging, and tracking key accuracy/latency metrics
- Collaborate closely with M&A practitioners, engineers, and security to understand requirements and deliver practical solutions
Key Accountabilities:
- AI Applications: Contribute to building AI features and applications that address real business challenges, working with the team to take ideas from prototype through to reliable delivery.
- Research & Development: Stay across emerging trends in Generative AI and contribute to team learning through experimentation, write-ups, and knowledge sharing.
- Technical Development: Grow your engineering skills through hands-on delivery, feedback, and mentoring in a team that moves fast with a test-and-learn mindset.
What you’ll learn

- How to work in cross-functional teams with M&A practitioners, engineers, and security stakeholders
About the team
At Deloitte we are building and scaling a suite of AI powered products to speed up M&A due diligence, valuation, origination and deal execution. In this role, you’ll work with experienced engineers and practitioners to help design and build AI features that enable teams to interrogate data rooms, extract and validate insights from structured/unstructured documents, and generate client-ready outputs.
Enough about us, let’s talk about you.
- 0–2 years’ experience (or equivalent internships/projects) in software engineering and AI
- Strong Python fundamentals and experience working with common data/AI libraries
- Understanding of core software engineering concepts (APIs, testing, version control, code review)
- A degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset
- Hands-on exposure to LLMs, prompt engineering, retrieval (RAG), or agentic workflows
- Experience building simple production APIs (e.g., FastAPI) and integrating with databases (SQL/NoSQL)
- Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure preferred), containers, and CI/CD concepts
- Familiarity with frontend development (React/Next.js) is advantageous
