You will be joining a team of passionate and innovative people to create and implement solutions that meet our clients’ toughest challenges in a market that is undergoing unprecedented disruption and reform. About the Team
The Deloitte Energy and Climate Advisory team is a diverse group with a high level of client interaction across all levels of staff. We work with businesses, governments, regulators and market institutions to help them navigate uncertainty and realise opportunities as the energy and climate landscape is transformed by new policies, technologies, decarbonisation goals and business models.
Our team prides itself on assisting clients through analytical rigour and strong industry knowledge. Our team includes engineers, economists, government and regulatory specialists, commercial and business advisers, and modellers who work collaboratively across all components of the energy and climate landscape.
Some examples of how we have helped our clients understand the environment they operate within and identify the actions they could take to achieve better outcomes include:
- Assessing the potential size of the global hydrogen market and the share of demand that Australia could capture to underpin the National Hydrogen Strategy
- Providing insight to Australian carbon markets, investment opportunities and role in developing natural capital
- Working with the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) to develop Australia’s first Bioenergy Roadmap , identifying areas of the economy where bioenergy has a key role to play in decarbonisation and modelling the impact of cost on demand
- Authoring Australia’s first Bioenergy Roadmap
- Supporting the financial and commercial feasibility of some of the largest green hydrogen projects globally
- Assessing the demand for fuel-cell electric vehicles (FCEV) for a global automotive manufacturer to support their Australian FCEV strategy
- Working with government to support initiatives, strategies and policies to catalyse the adoption of clean energy and development of new industries such as green hydrogen and bioenergy
Enough about us, let’s talk about you.
We are looking for individuals who want to have an impact on future generations with the following attributes:
- 8 to 15 years of relevant experience and exposure preferably in decarbonisation, climate resilience, carbon markets, renewable energy, hydrogen, energy policy and energy transition strategies
- bachelor or master’s degree in engineering, science, mathematics, economics or a related technical field
- experience leading and working collaboratively within teams to develop and deliver innovative solutions to complex problems
- experience in qualitative and quantitative analysis to support decision-making and in effectively presenting your insights and findings to a broad spectrum of people
- modelling and structuring options to finance the transition of the energy sector, carbon markets and industry more broadly
