Infrastructure and Industrial capacity form the backbone of our economy. Deloitte’s Infrastructure & Industrials (I&I) team works closely with public and private sector clients to generate value through investments in infrastructure from project inception through to operation.
Our Infrastructure Commercial Transactions team is looking for experienced project finance professionals with capability and experience advising on or delivering projects for Government utilising a range of funding and financing models including PPPs and other alternate financing arrangements.
Whether we are advising on commercial structures, applying structured decision making, developing financing models, shaping investment strategies, or developing investment cases - our team supports clients to make confident, high impact investment decisions. You will have the opportunity to work with major clients as they prioritise, plan and shape the infrastructure and services that develop, protect and sustain our nation.

What will your typical day look like?
Expect to work closely as a trusted advisor to Government departments and help address ‘big-ticket’ issues related to social and economic infrastructure and complex services.
- Leading the design and delivery of advanced financial models to support project finance decisions, alternative financing structures, and risk allocation in infrastructure projects, including PPPs and other innovative financing arrangements.
- Lead advice on the design of financing structures, assessment of project risks, development of mitigation strategies and support for evaluation and negotiation of effective finance arrangements
- Delivering hands on commercial and financial analysis for major projects and programs, including designing commercial frameworks, running financial analysis and determining overall budget envelopes, developing market engagement strategies, and working in multi-disciplinary teams.
- Overseeing large-scale transaction processes and negotiations that secure value for money and strong public outcomes across sectors
- Leading the growth of the business through identifying opportunities, driving business development and preparing thoughtful and compelling proposals.
- Mentoring and leading project teams, fostering a collaborative and problem-solving culture while managing client relationships.
Enough about us, let’s talk about you.
You will have:
- At least 10 years’ relevant experience in project financing, infrastructure advisory or related commercial functions with a strong emphasis on financial modelling, project finance, and alternate financing mechanisms including PPPs.
- Proven track record in advising government and private sector clients on complex infrastructure investments and commercial frameworks.
- Deep technical expertise in quantitative financial analysis, finance structuring, contract design, and commercial negotiations, with the ability to translate complex financial and technical data into strategic advice and clear communication materials tailored for senior stakeholders.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing multi-disciplinary teams and complex projects, with strong stakeholder engagement skills.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Finance, Economics, Law, Engineering, or related fields.
- Excellent communication and writing skills, including the ability to prepare a range of different documents, and write in different styles for different purposes and audiences (e.g. technical reports, briefings to executive decision makers, succinct summaries of complex issues, visual materials to support stakeholder engagement activities with a variety of audiences).
- A strong desire to make an impact that matters through the work that you do.

- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. Commerce, Finance, Economics, Law, or Engineering).
