What will your typical day look like?

The IT Asset & Configuration Specialist role is the owner of the Asset and Configuration Management practice that sits within the internal Information Technology Services - Service Management capability. A key aspect of this role is developing and executing the Asset and Configuration Management strategy with a clear focus on maintaining data integrity and accuracy through automation and discovery whilst meeting industry and firm compliance standards.

As the owner of the Asset and Configuration Management practice, the role is responsible for the governance of the practice and delivery of all Asset and Configuration Management activities. This includes identifying and driving programs to continuously improve the practice and meet goals and objectives set out in the strategy.  

 

Role Responsibilities

  • Owning and governing processes, policies and procedures to maintain the integrity of the Configuration Management Database
  • Developing and executing the Asset and Configuration Management strategy
  • Continuously evaluate the existing processes and procedures to ensure that Asset and Configuration Management is being carried out in the most efficient and effective manner
  • Managing the overall health and accuracy of the Configuration Management Database to ensure asset data quality is maintained
  • Developing and distributing regular reporting to a variety of audiences utilising ServiceNow reporting and dashboard functionality
  • Developing and delivering training on Asset and Configuration Management processes
  • Working closely with internal technology teams and the ServiceNow development team
  • Attending interfirm meetings before/after business hours on occasions.
  • Developing strong stakeholder relationships with the IT department, business stakeholders, and other Deloitte member firms where required.
  • Maintaining effective communication channels across the network.
  • Acting as the point of contact and supporting delivery teams during annual ISO27001 internal and external audits related to Asset and Configuration Management.

Quality assurance is an IT governance team that services internal and external facing service lines for Deloitte Australia. They ensure all Deloitte technology and information will be created, maintained and supported with a defined level of service and quality whilst complying with Global secure standards and processes that are continuously improved and streamlined.

You are someone with: 

  • Excellent oral and written communication with ability to present, negotiate and interact at all levels, including business stakeholders, technical, management, and leadership
  • Demonstrated working experience in the Asset and Configuration Management practice
  • ITIL V3/ ITIL V4 foundations certificate 
  • 5+ years’ Service Management work experience
  • Experience in ServiceNow ITSM CMDB, reporting and dashboards
  • Experience or knowledge of ServiceNow Common Service Data Model (CSDM)
  • Experience or knowledge of ServiceNow Hardware and Software Asset Management configuration
  • Experience with enterprise IT environments including hardware and software lifecycles
  • Strong stakeholder management experience

 

Desired:

  • Advanced knowledge ITIL Asset and Configuration Management principles and methodologies
  • Experience or knowledge of ServiceNow ITOM discovery and integration
  • Relevant ServiceNow fundamentals certification
  • Experience in a Professional Services firm and an understanding, or willingness to learn, about Professional Services Firm
  • A strong understanding of CI mapping and schema, and experience with CMDB modelling
  • Experience or knowledge of CI automation or discovery tools
  • Tertiary technology qualification
