We are looking for a Risk Manager to join our internal Business Security Office within Deloitte Australia. This is an exciting opportunity to work in the AI risk space, supporting our broader Quality & Risk function. You’ll apply your risk management experience to help shape the future of AI governance, policies and controls across the firm.

What will your typical day look like?

In this role, you’ll support the Director of AI Risk by reviewing AI risk assessments, helping to identify risks and define practical controls and mitigations. You’ll work closely with internal teams across Deloitte to provide operational guidance on AI ethics, data protection, and governance.

You’ll also help mature Deloitte’s AI risk management framework, support the implementation of the ISO 42001 AI management system, and lead awareness and training initiatives to build a strong culture of AI risk accountability across the business.

The Business Security Office is a proactive, strategic business partner. We help our client service teams win work, build secure new solutions, and take rewarded risks while keeping security at the centre of everything we do. Although this is an internal team, we are recognised for the value we bring directly to clients and the teams who support them. Our work ensures the confidentiality, security, and privacy of data in Deloitte’s custody—protecting our clients, our people, and our brand.

You may have all or some of the following skills / experiences:

5+ years of applied risk management experience, preferably in data protection and governance with some exposure to AI
Passion for problem-solving and managing risk
Experience working independently and collaboratively as part of a team
Ability to translate theoretical concepts into practical advice for the business
Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical ideas to non-technical audiences
Ability to develop high-quality deliverables with limited guidance
Ability to prioritise competing demands and meet deadlines
