Our Risk & Regulatory Advisory team helps organisations across banking, government, mining and more manage uncertainty, respond to regulatory change and make sharper decisions with data. Through our Vacationer Program, you'll spend your summer embedded in that work, building real advisory skills on live client engagements alongside risk and compliance specialists.
What will your typical day look like?
Day to day, you'll be working alongside experienced practitioners to help clients strengthen how they identify, manage and respond to risk. The work spans industries and challenges, so no two weeks look the same. You might be mapping a client's compliance framework one day and helping build a data-driven control solution the next.
As a Vacationer in our Risk & Regulatory Advisory team, you could be:

Supporting clients with governance, risk, controls and compliance initiatives, contributing to operating model uplifts and embedding leading practices

Using structured problem solving to help clients work through complex regulatory and compliance challenges across industries like financial services, government and utilities

Contributing to transformational engagements, working collaboratively with your team to deliver practical advice and solutions
As well as learning in the flow of work, you'll be part of our structured Vacationer Program. You'll have a dedicated buddy, access to networking and social events, and the opportunity to be considered for an early graduate offer.
About the team
The Risk & Regulatory Advisory team advises clients on complex risk and compliance management challenges, helping them meet regulatory requirements while strengthening how they operate. The work spans compliance framework uplifts, system implementations, regulatory reviews, data strategy, financial risk management and control transformation. The team works across banking and financial services, government, higher education, utilities, retail, and mining and industrials. You'll also connect with Deloitte's global network of risk and compliance professionals, learning from peers and specialists around the world.
We're seeking penultimate-year students to join our Vacationer Program.
You may have all or some of the following:
- Curiosity and a genuine interest in learning
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Interest in risk management, regulatory advisory and compliance
- Comfort asking questions and learning through feedback
- Alignment with Deloitte's values and inclusive culture
- You'll be studying towards or have completed a relevant degree, such as Business, Commerce, Accounting, Economics or Finance
Vacationer Program details:
- Start date: November 2026 - February 2027
- Program type: 4 weeks paid internship
- Location: Perth
- Eligibility: Penultimate-year students
- PR or Citizen or Australia/New Zealand
