We have several opportunities to join our team, from Senior Analyst roles to Senior Manager roles, with competency requirements focused on Internal Audit, Controls Advisory & Assurance, Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (PCAOB/SOX), and Technology Assurance. 

 

What will your typical day look like?

As a senior member (Senior Manager or Manager) of the team you will:

  • Contribute to our growth: Lead business development efforts, supporting the pursuit of new opportunities and expanding our client base.
  • Play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our team: Coach and mentor team members, fostering their growth in controls advisory and risk management. Participating/leading related training for our teams continued skills advancement.
  • Be a trusted advisor: Advise clients on their risk profiles, risk management frameworks and operating models.
  • Lead from the front: Plan, lead and deliver a range of internal audit engagements in the public, corporate and Energy sectors, that help organisations uplift their capacity to manage their risks.
  • Influence decision-makers: Present impactful insights and recommendations to Senior Management, Executive and Board level stakeholders.
  • Drive innovation: Identify opportunities to optimise risk management and internal audit practices.
  • Own your projects: Take charge of project management, leading a portfolio of work that is high-quality and delivered with exceptional client service, and financial success.
  • Build your brand: Invest time in cultivating relationships and establishing your profile in the market and within the firm.

 

About the team  

In Controls Assurance, we offer controls advisory services to first and second line teams.  We help organisations improve their risk and controls management capability.  We undertake internal audit and assurance activity in a third line functional capacity.  Our team works with leading ASX companies and public sector organisations to help them improve and modernise their risk and control environment.  

  

Enough about us, let’s talk about you.  

You may have all or some of the following skills / experiences:

  • Proven leadership: Experience (5+ years) in internal audit, controls assurance and risk management, with a demonstrated track record of successfully leading and managing high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional coaching and mentoring skills: A passion for developing others and building strong internal relationships.
  • Excellent communication: The ability to articulate complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner, both verbally and in writing.
  • Technical expertise:
    • Experience in designing and assessing governance, processes and controls (operational and financial) in an Internal Audit, an in-house Assurance Function, or external audit capacity.
    • Highly desirable would be experience with financial controls assurance engagements (for example exposure to PCAOB and Sarbanes Oxley controls) and technology assurance engagements.
    • Experience in reviewing, crafting, and building risk management strategies, operating models and plans.
  • Client-facing experience: Proven ability to deliver high-quality reports, proposals, and presentations to clients and stakeholders and engage with senior industry partners.
  • Business acumen: Experience in building and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders, identifying new business opportunities, and contributing to the sales process. Strong relationship and stakeholder management skills, and ability to demonstrate high levels of initiative.
  • Strong educational background: Tertiary-level qualification in a relevant discipline with professional accreditation (CIA/CPA/CA)
