The Sustainability and Climate Change advisory team is growing and requires a number of outstanding, innovative and engaging professionals to join the team – that’s where you come in. The Sustainability and Climate Change team is privileged to be working on one of the most pressing issues of this century. Through our services, we help our clients understand, engage with and act on their sustainability-related risks and opportunities. 

  

About our Sustainability & Climate Change team 

  

Our highly diverse and multi-disciplinary team combines deep subject matter expertise, strategic thinking, and data and technology to meet the equally diverse and fast-evolving needs of our clients.  

 

These roles are Perth based. The Perth sustainability and climate team are focussed on working with public sector and government to help support, design, implement, and enhance climate and sustainability related programs, and importantly to help our clients integrate sustainability outcomes into their business as usual.  

 

The broader practice’s experience and expertise spans Sustainability (or “ESG”) Strategy, Impact Measurement, Nature Risk and Strategy, Climate Risk and Strategy, Decarbonisation, Environmental Management, Social Performance, Risk Culture, Human Rights and Ethics, across a range of reporting and advisory client engagements.  

  

What will your typical day look like? 

  

We are looking for 1-2 Analysts or Senior Analysts to join our practice.  In your role you will be part of a team delivering innovative solutions to government clients with the opportunity to work closely with our local, regional and global teams.  

 

Corporate or prior consulting experience will be highly regarded, as will project management, stakeholder engagement, technology and digitisation skills – especially as demonstrated in the nature and/or climate change context.

You will be part of a leading practice working with the best clients with the guarantee of no day being the same. Your role will include: 

  • Delivering engagements for a range of clients, across sectors and inclusive of both corporate and government entities
  • Delivering engagements that relate to nature and natural systems (including strategy and risk and opportunity analysis), climate (including climate mitigation, climate adaptation, climate risk and resilience), and other sustainability areas across a range of sectors
  • Supporting the development of innovative solutions leveraging data and technology and the best of Deloitte’s global IP

You will bring a good understanding of natural systems (biodiversity, water, climate and land) and will have experience working with corporate entities. You will bring a strong passion to make a difference for our clients and in both supporting and enabling businesses and government entities to deliver more sustainable ourcomtes. Require skills and experience: 

  • 1-4 years’ experience relating to working with government, industry, non-profit or private sector clients on topics relating to natural systems, climate change or sustainability more broadly
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and engage with the corporate environment, including relating to corporate functions, processes, and structures as well as any applicable legislation, frameworks and voluntary standards
  • A degree or equivalent in environmental science, ecology, engineering, economics, international development, or technology in sustainability, environment, climate, engineering, international development, finance or business with a passion to apply your expertise to real world client problems 
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills, and be able to effectively draw insights from research and data to support inform ESG solutions for clients 
  • The ability, drive and determination to methodically work through complex problems at speed and synthesise into clear and impactful communications, without forsaking quality  
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a diverse team environment  
  • An ability to and build long-lasting and meaningful relationships with diverse stakeholders
