What will your typical day look like?

You will work on some of the largest and most significant health and human services strategy and infrastructure projects in Western Australia. Expect to work closely as a trusted advisor with Government Departments, private and community providers as you provide valuable advice and services that help to address some of the most complex problems and biggest opportunities facing the healthcare landscape in Western Australia.

 

Our clients will depend on you and your team to help address ‘front-page’ and ‘big-ticket’ issues related to healthcare standards, clinical planning and infrastructure. Your role will involve commercial advisory services as well as strategy, planning and project management.

 

In addition to providing valued service to clients, you will also make a meaningful impact on the economy, the environment, and the quality of lives for West Australians. You will be required to consider these things, and the public risks, costs, benefits, and opportunities associated with everything you do.

 

Your work could cover the whole of the project lifecycle to inform major decisions in healthcare and implement complex projects from policy development and business cases, through to procurement, implementation, and delivery.

 

You might find yourself:

  • Collaborating and supporting Government and its stakeholders make investment decisions in the State’s health and social infrastructure portfolios
  • Using data and information to derive critical insights – including consumer-level data, financial and economic information and demand forecasts
  • Undertaking strategic analysis to consider where the next health service should go and determining the required service delivery model based on population health data, changes to technology and innovative service solutions, and capacity and demand modelling
  • Analysing health and social infrastructure portfolio performance and future requirements using the latest tools and technologies
  • Working with a diverse team of architects, engineers, and people across multiple areas of government and the private sector, to design hospitals and health services to meet the needs of the target population. This could include working closely with clinicians, consumers and hospital stakeholders to develop future service models based on best practice standards and innovation trends, and developing functional briefs and schedules of accommodation to inform the infrastructure that underpins these services
  • Undertaking commercial and financial analysis, designing commercial frameworks, and developing and delivering procurement strategies to optimise competitive processes.
  • Leading / supporting the delivery and commissioning of large, complex health infrastructure works.

As a Senior Analyst/Manager in our healthcare specialty, you'll be at the forefront of delivering value-driven solutions to our clients across the healthcare sector. You will manage projects focusing on health service planning and infrastructure, leveraging your expertise in clinical service delivery, financial performance improvement, health infrastructure, and/or operational enhancement. Your work will span across public hospitals and health and human services organisations, driving efficiency and quality while optimising consumer and community experiences.

 

Enough about us, let’s talk about you. 

We’re looking for dynamic individuals with a passion for health and social care; and an interest and/or experience preferably in the public sector or in a consulting environment with Government clients; and an interest in the planning, economic, financial and social drivers of government and healthcare investment, decision-making and policy.

 

In particular, you may have:

  • Four to eight years of experience in health service planning, financial and operational roles, or consultancy within the health sector.
  •  A tertiary qualification in health, management, economics, finance, accounting, or a related field.
  •  Demonstrated ability in project management, client relationship development, and leading teams.
  • Experience in clinical services development, heath infrastructure and/or commissioning.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with health data, including the ability to translate clinical data, population demographics and hospital activity data.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills, including the ability to prepare a range of different documents, and write in different styles for different purposes and audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and interest and/or experience in complex stakeholder management.
  • A positive, collaborative, and problem-solving approach
  • A desire to learn and grow
