What will your typical day look like? 

We are looking for a Senior Consultant to join our Deloitte Access Economics team in Perth. You will contribute to high-impact projects that support governments and industry to plan, invest and respond to some of the most pressing challenges.


You will work across areas such as:
•    Freight, ports and supply chains 
•    Labour markets
•    Climate and decarbonisation 
•    Macroeconomics 

 

This role has a strong quantitative focus. You will work with temporal, spatial and operational datasets to generate insights, support decision-making and deliver high-quality analysis for public and private sector clients.

 

As part of a collaborative national team, you will:

  • Apply economic princples and frameworks to complex client problems
  • Analyse large and complex economic, temporal and spatial datasets
  • Build bespoke economic and models to solve client problems
  • Translate analysis into clear, compelling insights
  • Prepare high-quality reports, presentations and visualisations
  • Communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical audiences
  • Contribute to internal capability uplift and knowledge sharing
  • Support junior team members through on-the-job learning
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture by actively sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues

 

About the team 
Deloitte Access Economics is Australia’s largest team of private-sector economists. We deliver economic and policy advisory services to government and industry, providing high-quality analysis that informs major decisions across the country.


While this role in our transport economics practice, you will also have the opportunity to work across energy and climate, and macroeconomics.

You will ideally bring 5+ experience in as an economist.

 

You will have:

  • A quantitative degree (economics, statistics, data analytics); honours or masters preferred
  • Strong understanding of economic and statistical concepts
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Proficient at using R
  • Experience with GIS, spatial analytics, databases or data visualisation tools (desirable)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Passion for solving complex analytical problems
  • Clear communication skills
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
  • Curiosity and initiative
