What will your typical day look like?  

 

As a Consultant / Senior Consultant, you will play a key role in structuring problems, delivering analysis and translating insights into action. You will:

  • Structure complex, ambiguous problems into clear hypotheses, workplans and deliverables
  • Conduct data-driven analysis (operational, financial, asset performance) to generate insights
  • Support and/or lead workstreams across strategy, transformation and operational improvement engagements
  • Translate analysis into clear, executive-ready outputs (presentations, reports, decision material)
  • Contribute to the design and delivery of operating model, performance improvement and transformation initiatives
  • Engage with client stakeholders, building credibility through high-quality delivery and structured thinking
  • Collaborate with high performing multidisciplinary teams (engineering, economics, data, strategy etc.)
  • Get creative with contributions to the Deloitte practice to help us build a better, stronger internal culture and give back to our communities

Deloitte’s Capital and Program Advisory team partners with Australia’s largest asset-intensive organisations to improve performance across the full asset lifecycle. Whether it’s improving asset performance, reducing costs, controlling critical risks, or leading large scale transformation programs for asset intensive organisations, we offer services to bring about lasting change for a client’s business. Our services involve helping clients optimise their operations and make informed decisions, align their organisation around common goals and ways of working, and making simple, practical changes that not only build rapid pathways to value, but can be sustained for the long term through cultural change and operational discipline. 

 

Enough about us, let’s talk about you

 

We are looking for individuals who combine strong problem-solving capability with a drive to deliver impact. You will likely have

 

  • Consultant (~2 - 4 years) and Senior Consultant (5 - 7+ years) experience in consulting, strategy, transformation or operational improvement roles
  • Strong structured problem-solving capability
  • Experience leading analysis and synthesising complex information into clear insights
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to develop executive-ready materials
  • Experience in asset-intensive industries (energy, mining, infrastructure) is highly regarded
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools and/or digital solutions (e.g. Excel, Power BI, analytics platforms)

  • Thinks critically and creatively to solve problems, bringing structure to ambiguity
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to build strong relationships with a range of stakeholders
  • Demonstrates ownership and accountability
  • Is curious and proactive, bringing new ideas and perspectives
  • Thrives in collaborative environments and has experience working in teams with a passion to develop others as well as self
