What will your typical day look like?  

In this Perth role, you will engage directly with high profile Resource & Energy sector clients on their most important and challenging business issues - addressing and solving their priority asset and operational related problems. You will also:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients in the resource and energy sector at various levels, collaborating to ensure the successful achievement of project objectives and deliverables.
  • Lead and coordinate project workstreams, focusing on outcomes and impact, while mentoring and guiding junior staff.
  • Provide Subject Matter Expertise in the field of Asset Management to support the delivery of assigned improvement projects.
  • Proactively pursue client opportunities and deliver proposed solutions to develop a pipeline of work.
  • Develop strong relationships with the existing client base whilst growing the Specialist Assets network.
  • Be a role model by embodying Deloitte's core values, and mentor and support team members through guidance and encouragement.
  • Primarily based in the Perth office, with potential travel to sites as required by project needs or demand.

Enough about us, let’s talk about you. 

In response to strong client demand for our services, we have a need for an additional Operational Manager level practitioner with extensive Asset Management and an operational transformation experience in energy, resources, and public infrastructure.

You are someone with: 

  • A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Experience in asset-intensive industries, preferably in Resources and Energy, in a mid to senior technical engineering role with a strong focus on Maintenance and Asset Management practices.
  • Strong understanding of asset management concepts, reliability and maintenance optimization techniques, and spare part management.
  • Experience leading and mentoring teams with a passion to develop others as well as self.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to build strong relationships with a range of clients.
  • Strong and adaptable facilitation and communications skills.
  • Experience conducting analysis (desktop research, data analysis, reviewing documents etc.) and synthesising into digestible outputs (e.g., reports).
  • Experience in the use of structured problem-solving approaches / frameworks.
  • Curiosity to learn and proactivity to bring forward ideas.
