Within our Industrials practice, the smart manufacturing and operations team helps clients transform their operations and uplift production performance by applying the latest in advanced digital technologies. Underpinned by the global Deloitte Smart Factory network, we take a holistic approach to raising performance, and enable clients to drive increased value within and beyond the four walls of their manufacturing operations, while ensuring that people and processes are part of the successful technology transformation strategy.
This is an exciting, growing, and highly visible area within Deloitte that has some of the most innovative, bright, and disruptive minds applying new thinking, new ideas, and new solutions to new problems across manufacturing sectors including Med Tech, Food & Beverage, Mining, Oil & Gas, Power, Utilities, and Renewables.
What will your typical day look like?
As a Lead Automation Systems Engineer in the Smart Manufacturing and Operations team, you will provide exceptional client service and apply your experience to:
- Lead and manage some of the most complex and impactful smart manufacturing and operations programs for clients in Mining, Oil & Gas, Power, Utilities, and Renewables, Med Tech, and Food & Beverage sectors.
- Ensure high-quality outcomes for our clients by maintaining a strong commitment to excellence, supporting their business objectives.
- Develop a high performing team, through leadership, coaching and mentoring.
- Work with leaders to discover new market opportunities and prepare proposals and scope and be accountable for new client engagements.
- Undertake extensive strategy, operations and transformation focused training and development (both structured and on the job).
- Contribute significantly to thought leadership, talent development, people leadership and running of Deloitte’s business.
Enough about us, let’s talk about you
- Demonstrated experience in delivering complex smart manufacturing and operations projects in a client facing/advisory role.
- Extensive experience in delivering technologies including Edge to Enterprise IIOT, SCADA, MES, ERP integration, and Industrial Information management.
- Have a degree in Electrical/Computer/Mechatronics Engineering (or similar), or relevant industry experience.
- Strategic and critical thinking capabilities, with a deep understanding of the challenges facing organisations in their pursuit of smart manufacturing and operations transformation.
- Highly effective communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to articulate complex ideas and arguments effectively, both at executive and working level.
- Proven ability to manage and develop strong and enduring business relationships with senior clients.
- Experience in leading and mentoring teams with a passion to develop others, as well as self.
- Strong and adaptable facilitation and project management skills, with a demonstrated ability to balance multiple streams of work and drive projects to successful completion.
- Be an Australian citizen with the willingness to apply for Defence security clearance.
- Any previous experience in the Ignition platform by Inductive Automation and AVEVA would be seen as highly beneficial.
