Director - Technology Strategy and Transformation

Date:  8 Oct 2026
Location:

Perth, WA, AU

Department:  Technology & Transformation
Description:

Job Requisition ID: 42058

  • Shape major technology-led transformation programs for WA Government clients across health, education, justice, transport and local government.

  • Be part of market-leading projects with global scale and complexity

  • Build relationships with in-person connection across our teams and clients, with flexibility to balance work and life

This is a Director opportunity in our Technology Strategy & Transformation Consulting practice, based in Perth, where you'll help Government & Public Services clients turn policy, service and technology priorities into transformation that delivers real community impact.

What will your typical day look like?

You'll work with senior government executives, technology leaders and agency stakeholders to define technology strategies and lead complex transformation programs. That could mean shaping operating model redesign, leading digital and core platform modernisation, or guiding AI and regulatory technology initiatives from strategy through to implementation and transition.

At this level, your impact goes well beyond delivery. You'll help clients navigate regulatory, operational and funding constraints while improving service delivery, resilience and organisational capability. Success will come from bringing structure to complex environments, balancing risk and commercial considerations, and keeping major programs moving across scope, quality, budget and stakeholder expectations.

This is also a leadership role inside Deloitte. You'll grow trusted client relationships, contribute to market development and pursuit activity, and coach teams to lift capability and delivery excellence. Working closely with local and national colleagues, you'll draw on Deloitte's broader research, methods and global experience to solve high-value problems in the WA public sector.

About the team

Our Technology Strategy & Transformation Consulting practice helps organisations design and deliver technology-enabled business transformation. Within our Government & Public Services team in Western Australia, we work across education, health and human services, security and justice, infrastructure and transport, and state and local government. Enough about us, let's talk about you

You may have all or some of the following skills/experiences:

  • Proven experience leading technology-enabled transformation programs in Government & Public Services environments

  • Strong understanding of public sector operating models, regulatory settings, risk and compliance requirements

  • Experience defining technology strategies, operating models, transformation roadmaps, or major enterprise technology initiatives

  • Demonstrated success leading large-scale programs across areas such as modernisation, cloud, data, customer experience, or operational resilience

  • Strong commercial acumen, including managing consulting engagements, budgets, delivery teams and senior client relationships

  • Ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Experience contributing to business development, strategic account growth, or pursuit leadership

  • Strong judgement and problem-solving skills, with the ability to bring structure to ambiguity and lead teams through complexity
