What will your typical day look like?  

 

As part of the ongoing growth and success of our business, an opportunity has arisen for a Manager to join our Perth team. As part of this role, you will work within a national team to grow our research, consulting, economic assessment and forecasting capabilities across a number of areas including:

 

•    Policy areas such as the circular economy, emissions reduction, renewables, transport policy and economic development
•    Various aspects of transport and infrastructure – business cases, strategy and economic impact analysis
•    Emerging technologies and decarbonisation e.g. batteries, hydrogen, autonomation, drones, Mobility as a Service etc

 

This role will have a significant quantitative element, which will see you working with datasets, both temporal and spatial. You will be working as part of a national team to enhance our current capabilities and contribute both management and technical skills to widely varying project work for public and private sector clients.

About the team  

 

You will join Australia’s largest team of economists in delivering rare insights to help public and private sector organisations plan for the future. We offer economic and policy advisory services to clients across government and the private sectors, and pride ourselves on providing the highest calibre analysis and advice. Every single day with Deloitte Access Economics (DAE) is different. Our Transport sector team works in all States and territories as well as internationally and is led by some of Australia’s leading public sector and transport economists.

 

The teams are within the larger DAE business which works across a variety of topics (e.g. education, civil government, education,  transport, infrastructure, media and technology etc.) and policy, and offer services including policy formation and validation, business case development, strategy advice, cost benefit analysis, economic impact assessment and program evaluation. 

 

Enough about us, let’s talk about you.  

 

Ideally, you will have several years’ experience in public policy, economic research, data analysis or modelling and forecasting, and most likely with experience in program and project evaluation, policy assessment, investment planning as well as operational data and statistics.  Knowledge of and interest in civil government and / or the transport and infrastructure sectors is preferred. 

 

You will bring a combination of the following skills, attributes and experiences to our team:

•    An undergraduate degree with a quantitative focus is essential (e.g. economics, statistics, mathematics);
•    Understanding of economics, public policy and economic development is an advantage; 
•    Some knowledge and experience in using various analytics tools / packages e.g. MS Excel, R, GIS software, spatial analytics, databases 
•    A passion for detailed and diligent analysis and clearly communicating your results;
•    Strong attention to detail, and be driven to look for solutions and solve problems;
•    Most importantly, you must have a desire to learn and manage work within a multi-disciplinary team.
