We are looking for a Data & AI Analyst to join our Data & Digital team in Perth. This is an exciting opportunity for an Analyst to Experienced Analyst to work on meaningful data, analytics and AI-enabled transformation initiatives across a broad range of industries. You’ll gain hands-on experience working with large enterprise datasets, modern analytics tooling and emerging AI technologies while being supported through coaching, collaboration and continuous learning.

 

What will your typical day look like?

You’ll work alongside experienced professionals to deliver data-driven and AI-enabled solutions across client engagements and strategic transformation initiatives. One day you may be preparing and analysing large transactional datasets from multiple source systems; the next, automating workflows using SQL and Python or developing dashboards that help stakeholders identify operational, financial or risk trends.

In this role, you’ll be trusted to contribute to real project work from the outset while continuing to build your capability through structured learning and mentorship.

You’ll spend your time:

  • Collaborating with Audit & Assurance teams, clients and technical specialists to solve business problems using analytics and automation
  • Preparing, transforming and analysing large and complex datasets using SQL and Python
  • Performing data quality checks, reconciliations and anomaly analysis to support defensible outcomes
  • Developing dashboards and visualisations in Power BI and Tableau to communicate actionable insights
  • Using AI-assisted tooling and modern analytics approaches to improve delivery and problem solving
  • Communicating findings, risks and progress clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Continuing to develop your technical and consulting capability through hands-on project experience

 

About the team

You’ll be joining the Digital Assurance Data team in Perth, a group of data analysts, scientists, engineers and management consultants who sit at the centre of Deloitte’s AI, analytics and automation transformation capability across Audit & Assurance and our clients.

The team delivers scalable analytics solutions across a broad range of industries including resources, energy, financial services and government. We work across large and often complex enterprise datasets, helping Audit & Assurance teams and clients improve insight, transparency and decision-making through modern data, analytics and AI-enabled approaches.

 

Enough about us, let’s talk about you.

You may have all or some of the following skills / experiences:

  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in data analytics, data engineering or a related field
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python for data ETL, analysis and automation
  • Experience developing dashboards and semantic models in Power BI
  • Exposure to AI-assisted analytics or development tools and an interest in emerging AI technologies
  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail when working with data
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
  • A collaborative mindset and genuine interest in continuous learning and development
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic professional services environment
  • Exposure to Tableau, cloud analytics platforms or modern data tooling is advantageous
  • Experience in the resources or mining industry is beneficial but not essential
