What will your typical day look like? 

A typical day in Deloitte’s Cloud Engineering team begins with standups to align on priorities, progress, and blockers, where you’ll be tasked with leading a team of engineers to implement Azure solutions that deliver real, tangible client outcomes, in line with well architected design principles. Throughout the day you’ll align with client stakeholders through regular check-ins, and progress the technical delivery of technology outcomes through your technical expertise and breadth of experience, and working with your engineering pod to deliver quality outcomes to our clients. 

• Client interaction and collaboration: Serve as the primary contact for clients and key stakeholders, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.  

• Requirement analysis and solution design: Collaborate with clients and our broader programme team to understand solution requirements. Architect distributed systems on Azure to meet these requirements.  

• Implementation and testing: Undertake implementation of modern cloud products on Azure following best practice architecture principles and secure application delivery. 

• Troubleshooting and optimisation: Provide expert assistance in troubleshooting technical issues, optimising performance, and ensuring security and compliance of cloud solutions.

A Senior Engineering lead role requires broader leadership, strategic oversight, and proven capability in guiding teams and managing client relationships across cloud projects 

• Experience across the design and delivery of secure Azure architectures in alignment with the Azure Cloud Adoption Framework.  

• Experience and comfort working within multi-cloud delivery, multi-cloud architectures and multi-vendor technology landscapes. 

• Expertise in Azure services with hands-on implementation and workload migration experience. 

• Experience working in complex stakeholder environments across developers, application teams, platform engineers, cyber security teams, strategy and technology leadership, to delivering technology solutions in line with stakeholder requirements.  

• Exposure to Azure PaaS services in the delivery of micro-serviced architectures. 

• Experience delivering data platforms and data integrations using Azure and Microsoft products. 

• Applied understanding in the use of AI services in customer technology solutions. 

• Experience in implementing new technology solutions in client technology landscapes i.e AI products, or updating existing services as new features become available. 

• Experience across cloud migration activities, including migration planning and architectural considerations. 

• Strong understanding of identity access management across Azure Entra ID, including RBAC, Conditional Access, Key Vault Integration. 

• Strong understanding of Azure networking concepts including virtual networks, private endpoints, private DNS and public DNS zones. 

• Strong understanding of automation and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Azure Bicep, and scripting (Python, Bash) within Azure environments. 

• Strong understanding of CI/CD processes leveraging Azure DevOps services in alignment with DevSecOps principles to support secure application delivery. 

• Experience with containerisation and orchestration services using Azure AKS (Kubernetes), Docker containerisation. 

• Effective troubleshooting and incident response using Azure monitoring tools like Azure Monitor, Log Analytics and Application Insights. 

• Commitment to Azure security best practices and compliance frameworks. 

• Clear technical documentation and communication skills tailored to Azure  solutions. 

• Collaborative teamwork with cross-functional groups in agile Azure project environments. 

• Client-facing experience delivering Azure technical demos and solution presentations. 

• Relevant Azure certifications (e.g. Azure Solutions Architect Expert, DevOps Engineer Expert, Azure Administrator Associate) 

• Strong foundational knowledge of traditional IT infrastructure, including data center operations, compute/storage/networking architectures, and virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter 

• Experience designing and managing virtualized environments, and migrating workloads from on-premises VMware or Hyper-V environments to the cloud 

• Familiarity with legacy-to-cloud transformation strategies and hybrid infrastructure models bridging on-prem and cloud-native systems
