Associate Director | Data, Analytics & AI
Perth, WA, AU
Job Requisition ID: 41033
• Work on enriching client assignments with diverse teams
• A national and global platform to build your brand
• Thrive in an innovative, collaborative people culture
We are seeking an experienced Associate Director to lead the delivery of complex, data-driven projects and provide strategic advice across analytics, data governance, and emerging AI governance.
This role is suited to a senior analytics practitioner and leader—someone who combines strong analytical capability with the ability to translate insights into meaningful business outcomes. You will work closely with senior client stakeholders to solve complex problems, uplift data practices, and embed robust governance frameworks.
While exposure to AI and advanced analytics is valued, this role does not require deep AI specialisation. Instead, we are looking for someone with strong core analytics expertise who is interested in developing capability in AI and its governance over time.
What will your typical day look like?
Your core mandate is to lead analytically complex engagements that help clients better understand, manage, and communicate risk and performance. You will:
• Lead the delivery of data and analytics projects, from problem definition through to implementation and business adoption
• Translate complex analysis into clear, actionable insights for senior stakeholders
• Oversee analytical quality, including data integrity, validation, and review of outputs
• Advise clients on data governance, data risk, and emerging AI governance practices
• Support the development of pragmatic, scalable approaches to managing data and analytics in regulated environments
Delivery leadership (core focus)
• Lead a portfolio of analytics-led engagements across industries, delivering insights that inform risk, regulatory, and strategic decisions
• Design and oversee analytical approaches, including data sourcing, transformation, modelling, and validation
• Provide hands-on guidance to teams (including SQL review where required) to ensure quality, auditability, and robustness of outputs
• Manage complex projects, balancing technical delivery with stakeholder expectations, timelines, and budgets
• Communicate insights effectively to senior, non-technical audiences, linking analysis to business impact
Data governance & advisory
• Support clients to design and uplift data governance frameworks, including roles, policies, standards, and controls
• Conduct or oversee data risk and data quality assessments
• Advise on how analytics and data practices can be sustainably embedded within organisations
• Contribute to the development of AI governance capabilities, with a focus on practical application and risk management
Team leadership & capability uplift
• Lead, mentor, and develop teams of analysts and data practitioners
• Set expectations for analytical rigour, documentation, and peer review
• Foster a culture of curiosity, quality, and continuous improvement
Commercial & client engagement
• Build strong relationships with senior client stakeholders
• Identify opportunities to expand engagements and deliver additional value
• Contribute to proposals, thought leadership, and go-to-market initiatives across data, analytics, and governance
About the team
Our Data Risk, Analytics & AI team sits within Deloitte’s Risk & Regulatory business. We work across industries and the public sector, combining analytics, AI, risk, and governance expertise to support informed decision-making and build trust in data and AI.

You will join an inclusive, collaborative team that values diverse backgrounds and perspectives, and that is committed to innovation, practical outcomes, and measurable impact.
Enough about us, let's talk about you.
You are a senior analytics leader who is equally comfortable working with data and engaging with executives. You bring a strong foundation in analytics, along with an interest in governance and emerging areas such as AI.
Core experience (essential)
• ~8–12 years’ experience in data and analytics roles, working with complex datasets

• Strong data modelling, validation, and quality assessment skills
• Ability to translate complex analysis into clear business insights and recommendations
• Experience leading teams and managing projects in client-facing environments
Governance & advisory (desirable)
• Experience in data governance, data management, or data risk frameworks
