Join our Quality & Risk team, supporting partners and practitioners in our Strategy, Risk & Transactions (SR&T) group with practical advice on how to manage risks (Including risks to quality) in delivering services to clients as well as assisting the firm meet its professional and regulatory obligations through  nurturing a risk intelligent and high quality culture.

 

What will your typical day look like?

Strategy, Risk & Transactions is a fast-paced business that is continually growing and evolving, requiring us to be a proactive, strategic business partner to ensure we continually meet business and market agility needs.

As a Senior Consultant in the Strategy, Risk & Transactions (SR&T) Quality & Risk team, your day-to-day will involve a blend of advisory and hands-on work, where you'll provide high quality technical, innovative and commercial advice on complex issues and drive risk awareness initiatives. You’ll flex your talent in influencing and connecting with people as you actively engage, strategise, evaluate issues to successfully understand client objectives and resolve problems. 

 

Day to day you will be the first point of contact for a range of risk queries in relation to identifying or mitigating risks throughout the engagement lifecycle. Queries cover a range of topic including client and engagement acceptance, contracting, confidentiality and security, compliance with policies or regulatory requirements and project delivery. You'll work closely with senior team members to resolve complex issues, develop risk mitigation strategies, and provide guidance to the business.

 

You’ll also support other initiatives focussed on alleviating risk issues or increasing risk awareness such as training and communications, file review programs, upgrading procedures or collaborating with teams on new products or services. 

This role offers the chance to work with senior risk professionals, build relationships across the business, and contribute to protecting Deloitte’s reputation. You will apply your skills in identifying and analysing complex business issues, using innovative and creative approaches to solve problems, and your expertise will directly impact Deloitte’s reputation.

We are a national team working with Strategy, Risk & Transactions partners and practitioners to embed a culture that proactively focuses on quality and risk intelligence. Importantly, our team contributes to protecting and enhancing the Deloitte brand by offering strategic business risk identification & mitigation and commercial solutions.

To thrive in this role you will be someone with:

  • 3-4 years experience in risk management, advisory or compliance roles with experience in professional services highly regarded.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills – you’re proactive in picking up the phone and engaging directly with stakeholders to build strong relationships.
  • A natural curiosity and desire to learn/investigate a matter, ask questions and understand the business context of the work you are undertaking.
  • A lateral thinking style with a practical and commercial solution focused mindset.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise different tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt in response to changing business and regulatory environment.
  • A great team player but willing to take ownership of tasks and drives initiatives to conclusion
