Deloitte Risk Advisory are looking to grow our Crisis and Resilience Services advisory team, and want to find experienced, and creative, risk mitigation professionals who are passionate about helping our clients anticipate, plan for and navigate out of turbulent times.   

 

About the role

The Deloitte Cyber and Strategic Risk practice are looking for Senior Managers, and Managers, to strengthen our Crisis and Resilience Services team. 

 

As a member of our team, you will have a unique opportunity to:

•    Leverage your real-world experience of Business Continuity Management, Disaster Recovery and Crisis Management with our clients to help strengthen their incident response and recovery capabilities.
•    Help to develop highly creative defensive strategies to create corporate resilience to some of the most dangerous cyber-threats of the modern world (such as ransomware).
•    Lead cutting-edge Resilience programs across some of Australia’s largest organisations.
•    Become part of the Deloitte global community of Crisis and Resilience specialists who are thought leaders in all areas of business, operational and technical continuity planning.
•    Push beyond the traditional Business Continuity (BC) / IT Disaster Recovery (ITDR) mindset to release the real strategic value that Resilience concepts can deliver to any organisation. 
•    Understand how Crisis Management  
•    Support our team’s go to market strategy, creation, and management of our team pipeline.
•    Contribute to the continuous development, and alignment to new threat conditions, of our global Crisis and Resilience thought leadership, tools and methodologies.  
•    Shape and influence the resilience transformation agendas of our clients based on the evolving demands of Government compliance in making cyber threat readiness a mandatory and reportable requirement. 
•    Design, plan, lead, and support, Crisis Management / ransomware scenario exercises, from simple desktop exercises through to full live simulations.
•    Support client demand for traditional Business Continuity, Emergency / Crisis Management and Disaster Recovery Planning activities, but not as a ‘tick and forget’ exercise … we help enable incident response decision agility. and make plans flexible, practical and real;
•    Grow your understanding of the full scale of the Deloitte cyber defence, monitoring and technology systems / service recovery capabilities we can globally mobilise to support our clients and optimise resilience still further.
•    Coach and mentor our junior team members, based on your experience, areas of Crisis and Resilience specialism and team leadership skills.

 

This exciting role will allow you to work at the forefront of Crisis and Resilience advisory services, where your insights, experience and practical guidance can be exploited to deliver real value to our clients who are seeking to harden their defences against modern age threats to their business stability and staff safety. 

 

This role may see you lead, and manage, a wide range of Resilience activities ranging from assessing current state maturity of respond / recover plans, the effectiveness of escalation processes from incident to emergency to crisis, measuring the cultural adoption and staff understanding of business continuity provisions, analysing the effectiveness of critical technical recovery strategies, testing Crisis Management Team readiness with facilitated simulation exercises, through to the design and implementation of complex multi-disciplinary Resilience Programs … the business resilience challenges our clients face are often complex, constantly evolving and they look to Deloitte to provide the expertise and guidance they need.   

 

So, what sort of person are you?

In addition to your expertise in any of the key domain areas of Business Resilience (Business Continuity Management, IT Disaster Recovery, Cyber Security, Crisis Management, Risk Management etc.), we are looking for people who can complement our highly skilled Australian C&R team by bringing new perspectives on delivering real resilience gains for our clients.

We want people who can see beyond a traditional Business Continuity Plan to drive a focus on what needs to be done to embed a resilience culture within a workforce, think practically on how to work around an extended technology outage, caused by a ransomware event, and know how to select disruption event scenarios that really stress test a crisis management processes. 

In addition, you will benefit from having project / program management, team leadership and communications / presentation skills … the standard consulting kit bag. 

Your resilience experience, technology understanding, enthusiasm and perspectives create the ‘secret sauce’ that will make you stand out.   

As a senior member of the Crisis and Resilience team, you will be an advocate for increasing the eminence of the Deloitte Crisis and Resilience practice and will engage with high profile clients to grow your network within the field and become a recognised leader in what you do.

What will your typical day look like?

You will welcome the challenges, and opportunities, every day brings to help your clients improve their business / operational resilience, work with creative teams to develop new Crisis and Resilience advisory opportunities, and services, and you will continually grow your skills from working with a global pool of highly experienced risk professionals, with access to Deloitte’s collective knowledge base. 

You can be based in either Melbourne, or Sydney, and you will work with a highly diverse, and driven, team who are passionate about helping organisations improve their resilience capabilities.

You are ideally someone with:
•    Subject matter expertise across the Resilience domain or are a deep dive specialist in one area);
•    ideally have some management consulting and project delivery experience and / or experience of Technology management in a resilience, cyber and technology advisory role;
•    Experience in conducting Resilience reviews, including current state assessments, maturity assessments and internal audits against better practice and recognised standards;
•    Experience in developing and implementing resilience-related policies, frameworks, plans, procedures and supporting templates;
•    Experience with planning, running and reporting on complex incident simulation exercises / tests;
•    A strong desire to develop your leadership skills and impact, providing advice to a range of business / operational resilience, and cyber, programs;
•    Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as analytical and problem-solving skills; and
•    Proven ability to engage with stakeholders effectively in a range of industry sectors and at all levels of an organisation.

•    Able to determine strategic priorities, required investment and change impacts.
•    Understand technology and business operating models, their critical success factors and the tools that support efficient operations;
•    Have an interest and experience in working across multiple sectors including financial services, technology and media, energy and resources and the public sector;
•    Are an excellent facilitator, and presenter;
•    Have an attention to detail; 
•    Are experience leading project teams, and coaching junior staff;
•    Have a proven ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects on time and within budget; and  
•    Can  take a brief, shape a proposal, and close a sale.
