About the role

As Senior JavaScript Lead within our Sitecore team at Deloitte Digital, you will lead our national team on best practice JavaScript software engineering utilising React/NextJS and putting in place best practice around the use of Sitecore’s JSS SDK.  You will also contribute to growing the capability of our full-stack developers in front-end technologies.


You will lead architecture and delivery of the front-end components on large enterprise headless projects utilising Sitecore JSS and other headless technologies.  You will also work with both technical and non-technical client stakeholders to consult on front-end engineering best practices. 


Along with the experience and energy you bring to the team, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Being a key subject matter expert for front end technologies within the national Sitecore capability team
  • Establishing standards and best practice patterns for front end engineering using React, NextJS and Sitecore JSS
  • Advising clients on best practice in front end engineering including solution design, developer workflow and DevOps practices
  • Architecting and leading the implementation of cutting-edge user experiences using modern headless software engineering patterns, as a part of large scale and complex digital implementations
  • Leading the design and guiding the development of the front-end components of our accelerators
  • Mentoring front end and full-stack developers in best practice front end engineering practices
  • Contributing to business development through providing solution options and development estimates
  • Contributing to the wider Deloitte Digital Front End Development capability as a thought leader


About your experience

To be considered for this position, you will have deep and broad Digital experience and a proven track record of delivering digital projects, including:

  • Delivering headless websites using React, GraphQL and NextJS/Node
  • Experience in Micro front end architecture
  • A strong understanding of best practices, and exposure to a variety of tools such as Azure/Amazon Devops, Storybook, Jest, TypeScript, CSS Pre-processors, linters and task managers
  • Experience delivering sites mixing client and server rendering modes
  • Build and deployment using CI/CD tools and NPM
  • Working with APIs using OAuth authentication
  • Knowledge of secure coding practices
  • Exposure to enterprise web content management platforms
  • Experience with Docker an advantage
  • Sitecore JSS experience a significant advantage
