Sustainability & Climate Change Assurance – the field is evolving rapidly, and so is our team. We're looking for several outstanding professionals who want to be at the forefront of climate and sustainability reporting assurance. If you're passionate about helping organisations get their sustainability numbers right, ensuring the credibility, accuracy and transparency of climate and ESG disclosures, this is your opportunity.

About our Sustainability & Climate Change team

Our highly diverse and multi-disciplinary team combines deep subject matter expertise with data, technology and rigorous analytical thinking to meet the fast-evolving assurance and reporting needs of our clients. We specialise in sustainability and climate reporting across leading local and global standards and frameworks, including ISSB, ASRS, CSRD, TNFD and GRI, with particular depth in assurance over climate-related financial disclosures, greenhouse gas emissions reporting and regulatory compliance. We work with some of Australia's most complex organisations to give their stakeholders confidence in the sustainability information they report.

What will your typical day look like?

As a Senior Analyst, you'll be embedded in engagement teams delivering sustainability and climate reporting assurance across a diverse client base. You'll develop a sharp eye for how climate and ESG data flows through an organisation, from source through to disclosure, and build the technical skills to assess whether it meets the requirements of evolving standards and regulations. You'll work closely with our local, regional and global teams, learning from some of the most knowledgeable people in the sustainability assurance space.

No two days will be the same, but your work will typically include:

  • Performing assurance procedures over sustainability and climate disclosures, including GHG emissions data, climate risk reporting and broader ESG metrics

  • Evaluating client reporting against frameworks such as ISSB, ASRS, CSRD, NGER and GRI, and identifying gaps or misstatements

  • Supporting clients to strengthen their internal controls, data quality and reporting processes for sustainability information

  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including financial auditors, data specialists and climate subject matter experts, to deliver integrated assurance engagements

  • Contributing to the development of Deloitte's assurance methodologies and tools, leveraging global IP and emerging technology

Enough about us, let's talk about you.

You bring a genuine interest in how sustainability and climate information is measured, assured and reported. You've built foundational experience in a consulting, assurance or complex corporate environment and you're ready to deepen your expertise in an area of enormous growth and impact. You're detail-oriented but can see the bigger picture, and you thrive in collaborative teams working on challenging problems. We want you to build a great career with us.

You may have all or some of the following skills and experience:

  • Relevant experience in sustainability or climate reporting, assurance, accounting or audit, whether in a professional services firm or a complex corporate environment

  • Familiarity with sustainability and climate reporting frameworks and standards, including ISSB, ASRS, CSRD, TCFD, TNFD, GRI, SASB or NGER

  • A degree in sustainability, environment, science, finance or accounting, with a desire to apply your knowledge to real-world assurance and reporting challenges

  • Exposure to GHG emissions accounting, climate-related financial disclosures or sustainability data and controls

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work through complex datasets and reporting requirements

  • Experience building relationships and working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and team members
