The Senior technical leader is responsible for driving product development from conception to deployment. You'll lead cross-functional teams in designing, developing, and maintaining complex full-stack applications and distributed systems while integrating advanced cloud platforms, data engineering, and AI capabilities at expert level.

What will your typical day look like?

• Design and implement production-ready microservice architectures with high availability, fault tolerance, and event-driven communication patterns
• Lead API-first development with comprehensive governance, versioning, security, and rate limiting standards
• Architect cloud platforms on AWS with enterprise-grade DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation at scale
• Build and optimize large-scale data & AI platforms. Drive integration of LLMs and generative AI into production applications
• Mentor developers with hands-on technical guidance while staying close to implementation details
• Partner with tech leadership on platform decisions and represent engineering in cross-functional discussions

This team is a key part of our I&I practice, which is dedicated to helping businesses, governments, and communities across the globe address their most pressing supply chain challenges. Our team is grounded in a technology-first approach, leveraging our proprietary platform to provide end-to-end supply chain visibility, identify risks and opportunities, and offer actionable strategies for our clients. This is an exciting, growing, and highly visible area within Deloitte, bringing together top-tier consulting expertise with advanced digital and data capabilities to drive tangible outcomes. 

Enough about us, let’s talk about you. 

• 5+ years of application development experience with 2+ years in technical leadership roles
• Expert-level microservice architecture and distributed systems design experience
• Production experience leading cloud platform engineering and DevOps practices
• Deep expertise in data engineering with large-scale database administration
• Proven track record in AI/ML engineering with generative AI and LLM integration
• Extensive experience with Databricks and cloud-native data platforms
• Strong leadership skills with experience managing and mentoring engineering teams

We are interested in speaking with candidates who are either AGSVA security cleared or able to obtain clearance i.e. Australian citizenship being a requirement.
