What will your typical day look like?
As a Senior Manager in our Melbourne Private Tax Team, you will have the opportunity to shape and drive the business. Working closely with our Partners, you are responsible for leading the team and delivering to our clients while remaining focused on growing the business and identifying new opportunities. You will also enhance the performance, careers and development of a group of talented staff.
This specialist opportunity in our Private Tax and Advisory team utilises our global tax network and serves our firms largest and most complex private clients. You will focus on delivering high quality, value adding work to some of Australia’s most iconic privately owned businesses.
As a Senior Manager with specialist subject matter expertise, you will have many opportunities to advise on complex projects and assignments and managing the ongoing tax needs for businesses.
You will advise some of Australia’s largest privately owned businesses and family offices on a wide range of income tax matters, including (non-exhaustive): structuring and restructuring for tax efficiency, improved asset protection and effective estate/succession plans; tax controversary and governance; complex transactions; and cross-border transactions, including Australian inbound investment and outbound investments across Asia, Europe and the Americas. You will also assist clients with managing their income tax compliance affairs, including helping them meet their periodic tax reporting obligations to the Australian Taxation Office and provision of tax balances for financial reporting purposes.

Enough about us, let’s talk about you.
You are someone with:
- Experience working in managing and delivering complex client advisory and compliance engagements across a diverse client portfolio of privately owned businesses and/or family offices, including groups that have international presence;
- A zest for collaborating with clients and key stakeholders to understand their business needs and provide holistic and commercially appropriate tax solutions.
- Proven team leadership expertise and aspirations to grow engagements and client accounts and foster relationship at a senior level;
- Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills
- Degree qualifications in Commerce and/or Law with post graduate accounting, tax and/or legal qualifications
- A passion for growing the team and improving their professional expertise to best support you; and
- 5+ years’ experience in advising private clients as described above in a Big 4, mid-tier professional or accounting services firm, legal firm or the ATO.
