We’re looking for a driven professional to take on a pivotal part-time role (3 days per week), helping shape compliance strategy, lead national initiatives, and ensure our restructuring practice remains ahead of the curve. About the team
Our people flourish in the unexpected. Our Turnaround & Restructuring team specialises in offering sophisticated advice and innovative solutions to companies facing corporate stress or disruption. Working with senior stakeholders including CEOs, CFOs and MDs, we advise on financial restructuring/refinancing, operational restructuring, profit improvement programs, formal restructuring appointments (including Voluntary Administrations, Receiverships) cash generation/working capital analysis, and large-scale complex transformational change, all to deliver sustainable financial outcomes and long-term growth.
What will your typical day look like?
Work with a national team of creative and passionate people to bring calm clarity and support to management, owners, lenders, creditors and other stakeholders of companies facing financial stress or disruption.
A typical day is dynamic and impactful—shaping national compliance programs, staying ahead of legal and regulatory change, advising senior leaders, and empowering the next generation through technical training and tools.
As a National Technical Director your day-to-day responsibilities may include:
- Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures.
- Maintain and update the Compliance Manual as required.
- Lead the Project Elevate Program
- Manage the National Engagement File Review Program
- Monitor developments in case law, law reform, regulatory pronouncements, and professional standards (e.g., ARITA Code), and implement necessary changes to checklists, templates, and T&R procedures to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Prepare submissions to government authorities as needed.
- Respond to technical queries from T&R Partners and staff.
- Maintain, update, and amend Deloitte insolvency checklists as required.
- Publish technical alerts.
- Conduct and update the Graduate Induction to Insolvency Law & Practice workbook, distribute to graduates, and deliver annual graduate induction training.

- 10+ years of strong prior corporate insolvency experience and/or experience working for consulting companies or in practice on matters of financial performance and reporting, operational restructuring, or financial management
- Self-starter with ability to think laterally about complex problems, and to design bespoke solutions, often in a fast-moving environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with the ability and willingness to work with ambiguity and change
- A positive mindset with strong commercial and interpersonal skills, and a desire to deliver exceptional client service
- Strong drive for self-learning and personal development
- Proven ability to lead and manage teams to deliver exceptional outcomes
- A drive to foster a supportive and inclusive environment, with a love of working in and leading a strong team
- Unrelenting commitment to ethics, integrity and “doing the right thing”
- Relevant qualifications or equivalents (eg, CAANZ, ARITA, FINSIA)
