What will your typical day look like?
In this role, you’ll be joining a team of innovative and passionate people to create and implement solutions that meet our clients' toughest challenges and deliver sustainable financial outcomes. You will be diagnosing problems as well as designing and implementing turnaround/improvement plans. You will advise senior stakeholders including CEOs, CFOs, Divisional MDs and debt and equity providers (including private equity).  

Examples of our work include:
•    We helped one of Australia’s largest franchise business restructure its retail portfolio, refinance and achieve a successful trade sale
•    We helped develop and implement a strategic transformation for a national coffee roasting business to achieve an EBITDA benefit of c.$6m
•    We assisted a large retail organisation identify rental savings by reviewing portfolio performance of over 900 stores
•    We assisted a large national broadcaster to plan and execute a large strategic cost out program
•    We assisted a regional bank with their strategy refresh and subsequently planning and implementing initiatives that resulted in operationalising the strategy to achieve their growth aspiration
•    We assisted a fast-growing technology services business restructure its legacy operations and reposition for growth and investment in new high margin markets 
•    We assisted a public healthcare provider to define, implement and monitor a large-scale improvement program with significant state government budgetary implications


About the team
Deloitte’s restructuring team supports companies with a desire or need to define and drive change rapidly.  This may be a private equity backed company or one facing challenges to their success and requiring assistance with their stakeholders through periods of stress to stabilise and establish a path to delivering/recovering value.
Our national Value Creation Services team are well-known in the market for providing rapid operational and profit improvement programs, as part of Australia’s leading restructuring practice. 

Companies operate in an increasingly complex environment. Innovation and structural change is accelerating across all sectors bringing new challenges that require different and quicker responses.  

We work with companies and their stakeholders to:
•    Turnaround or exit underperforming businesses
•    Conduct strategic business review 
•    Improve profitability and cash performance
•    Assess options and address balance sheet stress
•    Create liquidity headroom
•    Manage crisis


Enough about us, let’s talk about you.
You are someone with:

•    Exposure to underperforming businesses, turnarounds, or accelerated transformation situations within business advisory, professional services or consulting environments
•    Experience consulting to companies on matters of financial performance, financial management or operational improvement. 
•    Ability to analyse companies from a financial, operational, and industry perspective, and a passion for complex problem solving
•    Exposure or experienced in leading engagements and managing staff while providing exceptional client service
•    Majored in finance, accounting, or economics with post-graduate qualification such as CA, CFA, MBA (or currently completing)
