Our Treasury & Risk team sits within Deloitte's Sustainability and Specialised Assurance practice, part of the broader Assurance and Advisory group. We advise a wide range of clients on valuation, mergers and acquisitions, financial risk management, and technical accounting. Our clients include some of Australia's largest publicly listed companies, private businesses, and government departments, and we work across financial services, energy, technology, and government.

What will your typical day look like?
The breadth of this role is what sets it apart. You won't be pigeonholed into one service line or one sector. In any given week, you could be working across completely different problems for completely different clients.
On any given day, you might be:
- Valuing complex financial instruments or building financial models to support corporate transactions and capital investments
- Advising energy generators and retailers on their trading and hedging strategies and policies
- Leading treasury due diligence on a significant buy-side or sell-side M&A transaction
- Delivering valuation services for some of Australia's fastest-growing technology companies
- Conducting AASB 13 fair value methodology reviews for major corporates, financial institutions, or government entities
- Providing AASB 9 accounting advice and hedge accounting support to CFOs and finance teams of listed and large private entities
- Collaborating with specialists across Tax and Legal, Consulting, Technical Accounting, and M&A to deliver integrated solutions
- Managing multiple client engagements end to end, from scoping through to final deliverable, while maintaining a high standard of quality
- Coaching and mentoring junior team members, supporting their technical growth and professional development
You'll be in front of senior client stakeholders regularly, translating complex technical work into clear, practical advice that drives decisions.

You're intellectually curious, commercially minded, and energised by variety. You're the kind of person who enjoys moving between a valuation model in the morning and a client strategy discussion in the afternoon. You bring rigour to your work but you also know how to step back and see the bigger picture for your clients.
You may have all or some of the following skills/experiences:
- 3+ years of experience in professional services or financial services, with a track record of delivering high-quality advisory work
- Strong understanding of corporate finance, valuation concepts, accounting principles, financial risk management, and treasury
- Proficiency in financial modelling, with the ability to design, build, and review complex models
- Experience across valuations, financial due diligence, treasury, or technical accounting, ideally spanning multiple sectors
- Progress towards or completion of CA, CFA, or FRM (or equivalent) is highly regarded
- Strong communication skills. You can engage senior stakeholders with confidence and produce insightful reports and client presentations
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines
- A genuine interest in developing others. You enjoy coaching junior team members and helping them grow
- A creative, solutions-oriented mindset. You don't just identify problems, you find ways to solve them
