Manager - Resource Management

This is an exciting time to join a team that has a fixed term opportunity for an experienced resource management professional, to cover our Regulatory and Legal Practice resourcing.

 

What will your typical day look like?

You will be managing a Service Line Resource pool and being the point of contact for Resource Management to the business. You will provide strategical resourcing by optimising headcount, manage/overseeing joiners, leavers and secondments, increasing utilisation and being aware of the impact on employee engagement. You will also influence, drive, and ensure optimal resourcing solutions are identified for our clients, the business and the individual, in a timely and commercially sound manner.

 

You will be responsible for planning for future client engagements through developing strong relationships both with our practitioners and the Service Line Regional Leads and Partners to understand their respective needs, as well as skills demand, and new opportunity planning and oversight. Other responsibilities include:

  • Resolve any resourcing conflicts, be the first escalation point for issues that are difficult to resolve in the team of Consultants (currently two)
  • Produce, interpret and analyse MI to provide trends, make connections and spot opportunities to improve profitability
  • Look for deployment opportunities and build relationships across all lines of service


About the team
The Resource Management team is responsible for the end to end Resourcing of the Risk Advisory Business. In doing this we maximise resource deployment to enable a smooth delivery to our clients, through line of service and cross line of service staffing; forecasting, utilisation, and workload balance while considering, skills & aspirations, development and diversity initiatives. This will drive impactful change in the business.


Enough about us, let’s talk about you

You will have at least 5 years’ experience as a resource management professional and is someone who can work in a diverse environment with multiple priorities. You have demonstrated experience in resource management or workforce planning, with exposure to both workforce planning and “workforce” stakeholder engagement. You have a genuine interest in both the human and business side of resource management, as well as an interest and understanding of the Analytics, and Regulatory and Financial Teams.
 

You have experience working in a fast-paced environment, with diverse; multiple and changing priorities. You have the ability to build strong relationships with high level written and verbal communication as well as the ability to influence; and also the ability to work in a National role in a Virtual environment. Additionally, you will have the following:

 

  • Strong MS Office skills (in particular MS Excel), and an analytical and inquisitive mindset, with the ability to identify and spot trends and behaviours. You have experience preparing, interpreting and analysing data and reports, with a high attention to detail
  • You have strong Stakeholder Management skills, and you are a trusted advisor who provides balanced and pragmatic advice around manpower planning and resource management, with the ability to work through conflicts
  • Using a commercial mind-set and business acumen, including the use of Management Information (MI), to inform decision making
