Do you have a passion for building trusted, well-governed data platforms, and for scaling AI responsibly into products that clients rely on? Are you looking for a role with genuine ownership of a platform's technical direction?
We are seeking an experienced technology leader to join Deloitte's Technology practice, taking technical ownership of a long-standing, commercially significant data and analytics platform used by major automotive manufacturers to benchmark dealer network performance. This is an opportunity to build strong data governance from the ground up, and to shape how AI-generated insight gets safely embedded into the platform.
What will your typical day look like?
In this role, you'll lead the platform end to end, setting technical direction, strengthening governance around its data and underlying calculation logic, and shaping how AI-generated insight is embedded into the product for internal teams and external clients. You'll work closely with practice leadership, the team currently working on the platform, and the firm's risk, architecture and technology functions.
Day to day, you'll be maintaining and problem solving any technical risks, plus defining and building a roadmap for AI-generated insight. You'll also mentor and grow the technical team, and act as the platform's technical voice with clients and partners as it expands into new markets.
About the team
Deloitte's Motor Industry Services practice supports major automotive manufacturers and their dealer networks across Australia. At the centre of the practice sits a well-established, web-based dealership performance benchmarking platform, which draws on a large, long-running dataset to give manufacturers a standardised view of dealer network profitability and operational performance.
The platform is commercially significant and growing, both in Australia and in new international markets. We're investing in its next phase: stronger data governance, and AI-powered insight capabilities for our clients.
Enough about us, let's talk about you.
You may have all or some of the following skills / experiences:
- Significant experience leading a data-intensive software platform, ideally in a regulated, benchmarking, analytics or financial-services context, at Manager level
- Hands-on familiarity with modern cloud application architecture (Azure experience highly regarded), including containerised deployment, relational databases and machine learning operations
- A track record of building data governance, data quality or model governance capability in a live production environment, not just on paper
- Experience shaping and delivering an AI or machine learning roadmap, with a clear view of the guardrails needed when AI-generated output reaches external clients
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical risk and trade-offs for partners, clients and non-technical audiences
- Demonstrated people leadership, including coaching and developing analysts and engineers, and building a team over time
- Comfortable operating with a degree of ambiguity, building out governance and architecture rather than inheriting it fully formed
- Exposure to professional services or consulting delivery models is an advantage
