  • To be successful in this role, you will first and foremost have a genuine interest in Insurance demonstrating your up to date knowledge of emerging trends and technologies and the value they add to the business (it is great to play with cool tech, but cool tech that doesn’t solve a business problem really isn’t cool tech for our clients).
  • You are very comfortable with ambiguity and are self-motivated. You are the type of person that doesn’t settle for good when you know it can be great. You like to push the boundaries of innovation, challenge the status quo, and are resilient enough to bounce back when your ideas are challenged.
  • You have had a career in Insurance (whether in industry or as part of a large consulting firm) and are looking at doubling down and taking the next step in your career-focused in this space. You are excited about the opportunities where insurance is going and the possibilities that lie ahead.
  • You’re adept at thinking strategically as well as being hands-on; you like to tackle big problems and help develop both innovative and practical solutions, you are the kind of person who likes pulling your weight and operate at your best when you feel that you are making a tangible and positive difference.

  • Supporting the delivery of Insurance core advisory and implementation projects for our insurance clients 
  • Leading designs, solutions for complex programs, Guidewire extensions (for enhancements) or customisations (in case of product gaps)  
  • Leading the development of Guidewire PC/ CC/ BC/ Rating/ Integrations/ DataHub Infocenter Workflows, Dataflows, Rules, Data Models, XMLs, PCFs etc.
  • Providing technical coordination and direction to the distributed engineering / development team
  • Establishing and providing mentorship on Guidewire design, coding standards, best practices,  modern software engineering, continuous integration and delivery
  • Contributing to the configuration, business rules, and integration development work on Guidewire product(s)
  • Reviewing Guidewire development work to ensure adherence to design and Guidewire standards and driving exceptional quality outcomes.
  • Leading the development and implementation of DevOps processes for CI/CD pipelines on Cloud using tools like AWS, Azure, GitHub, Jenkins etc
  • Identify efficiencies and innovative approaches
  • Maintain responsibility for completion and accuracy of work products
  • Assist in proposal development and asset development as requested

You are someone with:

  • experience leading the technical implementation of and working with the Guidewire product suite: which may include: Guidewire Digital, InsuranceSuite (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter, APIs), Guidewire Data Platform (Data hub, Infocentre, Cyence), Guidewire Cloud Platform  
  • Guidewire Professional Configuration Certified in PC/ CC/ BC
  • Advanced exposure and  experience with Guidewire Developer Solutions which includes
    • Guidewire Jutro (Front end framework)
    • Guidewire Digital Front End,
    • InsuranceSuite API
    • Cyence API (an intelligence engine built into Guidewire Data Platform and Guidewire Analytics)
    • Insurance Now API
    • GT: Framework test automation framework for Guidewire Cloud Platform,
    • Gosu Programming Language
    • DevConnect Claims SDK
    • Guidewire Insurance Suite Configurations (for configuring products and workflows)
    • Advanced Product Designer
  • Advanced exposure and experience with broad technical skills such as Object-Oriented programming (Java, C#, C, C++ or similar), relational databases (SQL / Oracle), web UI (design and development), XML, application architecture, and operating systems (Windows / Linux etc.) 
  • Knowledge of front-end web technologies (JavaScript and AngularJS) or similar with experience reading and interpreting application server thread dumps, database (Oracle / SQL) reports, and other log files
  • Advanced skills associated with modern software engineering, continuous integration and delivery, including object-oriented programming concepts and the ability to create software designs documented to a sufficient quality, specificity, granularity, and precision for the Development team to develop the software from.
  • Good exposure of Cloud/DevOps technologies and processes like AWS services, GitHub, Jenkins and building CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment
  • Strong technical knowledge and Integration experience
  • Knowledge of scale agile methodology concepts and demonstrable success working in scaled agile delivery project environments
  • Demonstrable success working and collaborating in teams with SME's, Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects and key business and technical stakeholders 
  • Demonstrable success working  with senior leaders, managing junior practitioners, and contributing to the firm’s growth and development in a variety of ways
  • Demonstrable success in establishing and sustaining long-term relationships with stakeholders at key clients
