  • To be successful in this role, you will first and foremost have a genuine interest in Insurance demonstrating your up to date knowledge of emerging trends and technologies and the value they add to the business (it is great to play with cool tech, but cool tech that doesn’t solve a business problem really isn’t cool tech for our clients).
  • You are very comfortable with ambiguity and are self-motivated. You are the type of person that doesn’t settle for good when you know it can be great. You like to push the boundaries of innovation, challenge the status quo, and are resilient enough to bounce back when your ideas are challenged.
  • You have had a career in Insurance (whether in industry or as part of a large consulting firm) and are looking at doubling down and taking the next step in your career-focused in this space. You are excited about the opportunities where insurance is going and the possibilities that lie ahead.
  • You’re adept at thinking strategically as well as being hands-on; you like to tackle big problems and help develop both innovative and practical solutions, you are the kind of person who likes pulling your weight and operate at your best when you feel that you are making a tangible and positive difference.

Guidewire  Functional Business Analyst you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the delivery of Insurance core implementation projects for our insurance clients 
  • Collaborating and working closely with subject matter experts (SMEs), business and operational stakeholders to
    • Elicit & define business requirements and user requirements / stories
    • Elaborate user requirements and break them down into platform - level functional, non functional, implementation and integration requirements  / stories  
    • Document UI specifications, business rules, configuration requirements, data mapping, form / document / report layout and field level validation
  • Owning requirements / story and acceptance criteria definition and documenting them to a sufficient quality, and granularity for the Engineering / Development team to identify a solution, change impact and high level estimates from
  • Collaborating and working closely with Engineering / Development and QA team to contribute to the technical solution narrative and to ensure designs and implementations meet the business and user requirements
  • Coordinating with business and operational stakeholders for the acceptance of completed and implemented requirements / stories
  • Reporting progress/ milestones to the Functional Lead, preparing decks/ reports apprising the leadership of the progress and/ or risks or issues
  • Assisting in proposal development or asset development as requested

You are someone with:

  • experience working in Insurance  in Guidewire implementations with strong Insurance domain knowledge 
  • Trained and certified as a Guidewire Professional Business Analyst 
  • Experience & exposure in Insurance Operations - Policy Administrations, Billing and Claims
  • Demonstrable knowledge and practical application of Insurance industry frameworks, standards and reference models (e.g. ACORD)
  • Strong analysis and structured problem solving skills, including analysis planning and monitoring
  • Good understanding and demonstrated experience in developing functional requirements of Guidewire product suite (PC/ BC/ CC/ Rating/ DataHub Infocenter/ Integrations). An experience working with various Guidewire SBTs will be highly desired
  • Exceptional requirements elicitation, elaboration, product demos and collaboration skills, using wide range of techniques appropriate for audiences 
  • Exceptional executive presence,  written and oral communication, story telling and data visualisation skills
  • Knowledge and good exposure to scale agile/SAFe delivery methodologies and demonstrable success working in scaled agile delivery project environments 
  • Demonstrable success working and collaborating in multi-disciplinary teams with SME's, Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects and key business and technical stakeholders

The minimum salary requirement for this role is $70,000 inclusive of 10% superannuation.
