Technical director owning platform architecture, engineering delivery, and AI strategy for a multi-pillar enterprise SaaS product in supply chain risk intelligence. Leads 7–8 engineers. Serves as technical advisor to account leadership and client stakeholders. Consulting/professional services environment. 

 

 

What will your typical day look like?

 

 

Platform & Architecture 

 

Owns architecture across frontend, backend, data, infra, and AI agent systems as one product. Sets technical roadmap. Designs for human and AI agent consumers. Produces formal architecture artifacts for compliance and security gates. 

 

 

Engineering Delivery & Operations 

 

Owns DevSecOps: deployment strategy, security gates, release governance. Defines engineering standards and operating models. Drives vendor integration across third-party pipelines. Tracks deployment frequency, defect escape rate, production stability. 

 

 

Client & Commercial Engagement 

 

Solution architect in pre-sales and engagement shaping. Scopes feasibility, writes proposals, represents engineering in steering committees. Owns technical narrative to non-technical executives. Contributes to practice growth. 

 

 

Team Leadership 

 

 

Hires, mentors, manages performance, grows engineers to independence. Distributed cross-disciplinary team.

Baseline 

 

 

  • 8–10 years in application development, with substantial technical leadership experience 

 

 

Architecture & Technical Depth 

 

 

  • Proven architectural ownership spanning frontend, backend, data, and infrastructure — not siloed expertise 
  • Hands-on — writes production code, leverages AI agents as development tools, reviews PRs, debugs production, and prototypes personally 
  • Integration — multi-protocol API design and patterns (scatter-gather, adapter, batch enrichment, event-driven) applied by problem context 
  • Platform operations — DevSecOps, infrastructure as code, database architecture, cloud-native infrastructure, and security/compliance 

 

 

Leadership & Governance 

 

 

  • Engineering governance and team scaling — operating models, hiring, mentoring, and growing engineers to independence 
  • Principal decision-maker with minimal oversight 

 

 

Client & Communication 

 

 

  • Communicates architecture to non-technical executives with clarity and conviction 
  • Direct client/stakeholder engagement in advisory or solution architecture capacity 

 

 

Desirable 

 

 

  • Supply chain, procurement, or trade compliance domain knowledge 
  • Enterprise risk, ESG, or sanctions/screening data platforms 
  • Consulting or professional services delivery 
  • Built or grown a technical practice from zero 
  • AWS cloud platform experience; infrastructure as code (Terraform or equivalent) 
  • Databricks or equivalent analytics platform 
  • Graph-based data modelling or relationship intelligence
