What will your typical day look like?
As a Front-End Engineering Director at Deloitte Digital, you will be the primary technical leader on large enterprise Front End implementation projects. You will work with both technical and non-technical client stakeholders to understand, design and implement solutions.
With a background in software development and a passion for technology, the focus of this role is on delivery of high quality well engineered solutions, working with our team and clients to deliver outcomes to address complex challenges and environments.
Along with the experience and energy you bring to the team, you’ll be responsible for:
- Advising and consulting with client on how to best meet requirements with digital solutions based on front-end technologies
- Advising clients on best practice software engineering, code quality and DevOps practices to deliver secure, performant and maintainable solutions
- Delivering large scale and complex digital implementations across different client industries, development teams and technologies.
- Work with senior engineers to run the front-end capability team across Deloitte Digital, including defining front-end specific strategy, processes, standards and team culture.
- Managing and mentoring teams of developers and full stack technologists in architecture, technical design and delivery of solutions
- Supporting Project Managers to develop and manage project plans, scope, variations and technical risks
- Contributing your knowledge and experience to continuously improve the processes and practices used do deliver software across the Deloitte Digital Engineering team.
- Lead the technical aspects of business development through defining the solution approach to meet business needs, planning the implementation approach and ensuring estimation properly performed accurately. Both in written responses and in sales conversations and pitches.
- Own relationships with key client technical stakeholders.

To be considered for this position, you will have deep and broad Digital experience and a proven track record of delivering digital projects, including:
- Minimum 10 years’ experience across software engineering disciplines and Front-End technologies, with significant experience of leading technical teams in delivering solutions.
- Demonstrable experience working with front end frameworks including React and Next.js leveraging SSR and ISR patterns.
- Experience in delivering solutions based on design systems, and experience working with designs in Figma
- Knowledge of and passion for leveraging GenAI tools such as Vercel v0 and GitHub CoPilot as part of the front-end engineering development workflow
- Understanding of component-based development patterns using Storybook.
- Strong underling knowledge of CSS for styling, along with CSS based frameworks such as CSS-in-JS, TailwindCSS and/or SASS
- Experience in architecting headless solutions using demonstrating understanding supporting technologies including CDN, WAF, REST and GraphQL APIs
- Experience delivering headless solutions on cloud platforms including Azure/AWS offerings along with front end hosting services such as Vercel and Netlify.
- Understand and demonstrated experience with leading DevOps practices at enterprise scale including CI and CD.
- Strong grasp of front-end engineering best practices and standards, secure coding practices (e.g. XSS protection, secure auth flows) and a commitment to accessibility.
- Experience delivering that integrate with enterprise web content management Systems (e.g. Sitecore, Contentful or Adobe Experience Manager) or customer service platforms (e.g. Salesforce, Dynamics) highly regarded.
- A desire to contribute to the broader success of the Engineering team by playing a mentoring and coaching role to other team members
