Are you a commercial technology lawyer, procurement professional or technology program delivery professional looking for an opportunity to broaden your experience? We are currently seeking a Contract Manager to join our growing team in supporting the firm’s technology and transformation engagements. We are open to the role being based in Melbourne (preferred), Sydney, Adelaide or Brisbane.
What will our typical day look like?
Every day will be different! Our Contract Management specialists operate within the Office of General Counsel. You will provide contract management support on a range of engagements across broad industry sectors. On the large and most complex technology and transformation programs you will be embedded in the engagement team while on smaller projects, you will provide support through a variety of channels and methodologies. You will work directly with our engagement team in identifying and managing contractual obligations from pursuit through delivery. You will participate in governance forums both internal and with client stakeholders to monitor delivery risks and issues and to respond to changes at a contractual level. You will work within the contract management team in developing and implementing tools, templates, methods and processes in a technology-enabled practice. You will contribute as a member of the Office of General Counsel team by collaborating on problems and sharing knowledge.
About the team
The Deloitte Contract Management team plays a key and integral role in the engagement lifecycle at Deloitte. We are a combination of lawyers and program delivery specialists based in offices across Australia. We operate as a practice integrated into the Office of General Counsel and work in close collaboration with our quality & risk and commercial teams to support a holistic approach to the support of our pursuit and delivery teams across the Deloitte business. You are someone with the following skills, experience, and knowledge:
- A minimum of three years’ experience as a commercial lawyer, contract manager or in program delivery
- Ideally your experience will include large technology projects but this is not mandatory
- Demonstrated experience working with business stakeholders, other internal teams and project leaders
- Strong communication skills. (e.g.: the ability to engage senior stakeholders and leadership)
- Passionate about practical problem solving, identifying risk and managing client delivery
- Strong relationship and collaboration skills and ability work as part of a team
- Willingness to learn from others and to contribute and share knowledge
- A collaborative, can do and positive mindset
Your role
As part of the Contract Management team, you will:
- Support the review of complex Statements of Work ensuring the firm’s contract and risk positions are accurately reflected
- Work directly with engagement teams on large projects in managing contractual obligations as an embedded member of the team
- Provide contract management support to smaller engagements through hands-on support as required, training and access to resources
- Manage and address contract queries, monitor contract compliance with obligations and escalate issues internally
- Participate in the ongoing development and delivery of best-in-class processes, tools, artefacts, training and support
- Work closely with the commercial group and litigation group within the Office of General Counsel in establishing support teams for engagements and bringing the right expertise to problems when they arise
- Collaborate with our commercial and quality & risk teams
- Participate in team initiatives to uplift processes and artefacts
