We are seeking a talented consultant to join our Engagement Financial Operations team. This is a great opportunity to develop your career within a high-profile national team, supporting some of Deloitte’s most significant client engagements while gaining exposure to senior stakeholders, complex programs and strategic financial decision-making.

What will your typical day look like?

Day to day, you'll work closely with engagement leaders and delivery teams to help manage the financial health of large-scale client engagements. You'll analyse budgets, forecasts and financial performance, identify risks and opportunities, and provide practical insights that support successful project delivery.

You'll spend your time monitoring engagement financials, maintaining key reporting and tracking tools, supporting change requests, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure strong financial governance and compliance. You'll also play an important role in helping teams understand the commercial impact of key decisions and identifying opportunities to improve financial controls and reporting processes.

About the team

The Engagement Financial Operations (EFO) team provides firm-wide support for engagement financial management, helping Deloitte teams maintain strong financial governance, operational discipline and commercial performance.

Within EFO, the Engagement Control and Operate Specialists team focuses on safeguarding the financial integrity of Deloitte's largest and most complex engagements. It's a highly collaborative team that partners closely with engagement leadership, finance professionals and project teams across the firm to deliver meaningful business outcomes.

Enough about us, let's talk about you.

You may have all or some of the following skills / experiences:

  • 2–5 years' experience in finance, project controls, PMO, commercial operations, project financial management or a related field.
  • Australian Citizenship.
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen with the ability to interpret and communicate financial information.
  • Experience managing budgets, forecasts, reporting or financial analysis within project or operational environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders and building trusted working relationships.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to influence and educate stakeholders.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience using financial systems such as SAP, Cognos, Anaplan or similar platforms.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to quality and accuracy.
