What will your typical day look like?
The Engagement Control and Operate Specialists (ECOS) team is responsible for supporting and coordinating the ECOS team to ensure the provision of sound engagement financial control services. This role requires working with stakeholders to continuously assist in improvement of practices and support a high performing team.
Your specific responsibilities as an ECOS team member include, but are not limited to the following:
- Monitor, maintain and analyse budgets, forecasts and actuals for multiple engagements
- Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement
- Provide weekly engagement financial status reports to relevant engagement leads and their team
- Own engagement trackers and act as the primary point of contact for finance-related engagement queries
- Manage the end-to-end financial management procedures relating to all aspects of the engagement lifecycle Provide financial inputs to change requests for the engagement
- Reconcile engagement tracking tool and SWIFT regularly
- Analyse and identify causes and consequences in engagement financials, and implement corrective actions as needed
- Engage with, educate, and influence engagement leadership, providing advice on emerging engagement issues, and present recommendations to support project delivery
- Guide engagement teams by highlighting the broader impact of key engagement financial decisions
- Identify and assist in implementing improvements to enhance financial controls and reporting accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and external regulatory requirements
About the team
The Engagement Financial Operations (EFO) team provides a comprehensive firm-wide engagement support service to facilitate good engagement health, hygiene, and financial management across all engagements and client accounts. The EFO support Partners and engagement teams with engagement financial management, whilst providing insights relating to engagement financial risk and impacts on engagement financial performance.
The Engagement Control and Operate Specialists (ECOS) team sits under EFO in the National Finance Business Unit and whose purpose is to safeguard the financial integrity of the firm’s largest and most complex engagements and client accounts.

You may have all or some of the following skills / experiences:
- Exceptional business finance acumen
- General knowledge in Finance and Project Management
- Strong background in delivering finance-related advice and operational support to large and diverse programs
- Prior experience in engaging with other teams and communicating with senior stakeholders
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., SAP, Cognos, Anaplan, ServiceNow, Salesforce and Excel)
- High attention to detail and accuracy
