The Chief of Staff (CoS) is a strategic partner and trusted advisor that supports the BU Managing Partner (BUL) and BU Executive leadership team in driving firmwide and BU strategic initiatives, optimising operations, and facilitating effective decision-making. The CoS helps to drive organisational priorities and ensure strategic initiatives are executed efficiently while enhancing team communication, connection and collaboration.

 

This role represents a great opportunity to work directly with the T&L BUL and Executive team, display strategic thinking amongst senior leadership, whilst building your profile, knowledge and experience across T&L and accelerating your career growth and opportunities. What will your typical day look like?

 

This role sits at the heart of the Business Unit, partnering closely with the BUL and Executive team to translate strategy into action and drive the successful delivery of key business priorities. As a trusted advisor, you will help shape strategic initiatives, provide insight and analysis to support decision-making, and work across the business to influence outcomes, manage stakeholders and ensure momentum on critical programs and transformation activities.

 

No two days will be the same. You will drive agendas and delivery of leadership and governance activities like Executive and Partner forums, assist the Communications Leader with T&L communications, work with People and Purpose leadership to drive engagement initiatives, support the resolution of operational and organisational structure and reporting in Australia and within Asia Pacific and aligned to the Globe, and build strong relationships with senior leaders across the business and Firm. Acting as an extension of the BUL, you will help keep the business aligned, connected and focused on delivering its strategic objectives while ensuring key decisions, actions and opportunities are effectively progressed.

As the Chief of Staff, you act as an important extension of the BUL, confidently representing their interests and engaging stakeholders with authority and influence. You will demonstrate exceptional responsiveness and organisational capability, effectively managing competing priorities, complex activities and executive-level commitments.

 

Given the role and stakeholders, you will act with professionalism and integrity; managing sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.


Key skills:

  • The ability to translate business strategy into action, driving initiatives from concept through to implementation and measurable commercial outcomes
  • Confidently capable of navigating ambiguity and making informed decisions with limited information
  • Analytical, design and strategic problem-solving skills to derive relevant strategic insights   
  • Excellent executive level stakeholder management, relationship development, influencing and collaboration skills 
  • Strong communication, presentation and well-developed workshop facilitation skills
  • Proven ability in building strong relationships and working within multi-disciplinary teams across the firm
  • Communicates with clarity and impact, distilling complex information into compelling messages tailored to diverse audiences.
  • Exercises sound judgement and initiative, independently progressing priorities with minimal direction and anticipating emerging needs.
  • Experience as a Chief of Staff is preferable.
