Appian Solution Architect

Date:  6 Oct 2026
Location:

Melbourne, VIC, AU

Department:  Technology & Transformation
Description:

Job Requisition ID: 42049

  • Shape the solution architecture behind Appian transformations for some of Australia's largest organisations, leading design decisions that set the standard across industries.

  • Be part of market-leading projects with global scale and complexity

  • Explore opportunities for global mobility and internal secondments

Join our Technology & Transformation team as an Appian Solution Architect, with the flexibility to be based wherever works best for you, leading the design of scalable Appian solutions that drive real transformation for our clients.

What will your typical day look like?

You'll lead solution design and architecture for Appian-based solutions across a range of industries, translating complex client requirements into scalable, secure designs and mapping how Appian deploys across existing legacy infrastructure. From high-level architecture through to data models and performance improvements, you'll make the decisions that shape how solutions come to life.

Your influence extends well beyond delivery. You'll lead pre-sales, scoping and client presentations, draft commercial propositions for Appian implementations, and work directly with clients to understand their business processes and design solutions that lift efficiency and productivity. This is work that helps organisations modernise at scale, with your architecture decisions underpinning long-term value.

Alongside this, you'll empower delivery teams - providing technical guidance, running code reviews to uphold best practice, and troubleshooting the toughest technical challenges. As a senior voice in the broader Australian Appian Practice, you'll mentor developers, stay ahead of the latest Appian capabilities, and help shape where the practice goes next.

About the team

As the Deloitte Technology and Transformation team, we provide a wide range of advisory and implementation services, harnessing the full suite of capabilities needed to drive end-to-end technology transformation and cybersecurity solutions that accelerate innovation, growth and performance at scale - empowering our clients for the future. From day one, you'll be part of the Deloitte Global community, with a development and career progression framework designed to help you grow in every sense of the word.

Enough about us, let's talk about you

You may have all or some of the following skills/experiences:

  • Extensive client-facing experience as a Technical Architect, including significant time as an Appian Architect

  • Deep knowledge of Appian components including process design, SAIL, rules, security, and integration

  • Experience across enterprise application delivery - configuration, development, deployment and testing in Agile environments

  • Knowledge of Appian integrations across platforms such as Salesforce, Oracle, SAP, Dynamics 365, custom APIs and cloud enablement (e.g. Azure)

  • Experience in software consulting (ERP, CRM, BPM/Workflow, Data Integration Architecture or EAI) and applied knowledge of enterprise architecture and data management

  • Strong database knowledge to design data models and identify performance improvements

  • Proven ability to design and review complex, secure and scalable solutions and remove technical impediments

  • Confidence presenting complex technical concepts to varied audiences, leading pre-sales conversations, and managing multiple engagements concurrently
