Adobe Commerce | Architect

Date:  10 Aug 2026
Location:

Melbourne, VIC, AU

Department:  Technology & Transformation
Description:

Job Requisition ID: 41729

  • Be part of market-leading projects with global scale and complexity
  • Mentoring, coaching and leadership programs to help you make an impact that matters
  • Reimbursements for professional development and subsidised qualifications

What will your typical day look like?

You'll lead the architecture and delivery of complex Adobe Commerce solutions, helping clients turn ambitious digital goals into scalable, secure and high-performing platforms. That could mean defining end-to-end architecture for B2B, B2C, headless or composable commerce, shaping platform strategy, and setting the standards that guide delivery across large programs.

Working closely with business stakeholders, product owners, enterprise architects and engineering teams, you'll translate business needs into practical technical decisions. You'll design integration approaches across ERP, CRM, PIM, payment and marketing platforms, while guiding choices around Adobe App Builder, API Mesh, Adobe I/O Runtime, event-driven architecture and cloud-native patterns.

At this level, you'll have the scope to influence more than a single solution. You'll drive architecture governance, mentor other architects and technical leads, and help build the capabilities, patterns and ways of working that strengthen Deloitte Digital's broader commerce offering.

About the team

Part Business. Part Creative. Part Technology. One hundred per cent digital. Through 22 studios spread across the globe, we provide clients with a full suite of digital services, covering digital strategy, user experience, content, creative, engineering and implementation across mobile, web and social media channels.

Enough about us, let's talk about you

You may have all or some of the following skills/experiences:

  • Extensive experience in enterprise eCommerce, solution architecture and digital transformation, with strong exposure to large-scale Adobe Commerce environments
  • Deep expertise in Adobe App Builder, Adobe I/O Runtime, API Mesh, Adobe I/O Events, Adobe Developer Console and Adobe I/O CLI
  • Strong knowledge of composable commerce, headless commerce, cloud-native architecture, serverless computing, microservices, API-first design and event-driven architecture
  • Experience designing enterprise integrations across ERP, CRM, OMS, PIM, payment gateways, tax engines and marketing platforms using REST APIs, GraphQL, Adobe IMS and OAuth/JWT
  • Expert understanding of Adobe Commerce architecture, including PHP, MySQL, Varnish, Redis and core platform performance optimisation
  • Strong capability across DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, release governance, containerisation and cloud infrastructure such as AWS or Azure
  • A strong grasp of enterprise security, scalability, reliability, compliance, high availability and operational readiness
  • Proven experience leading architecture governance, producing solution design documentation and conducting architecture reviews
  • Confidence engaging senior business and technology stakeholders, influencing solution decisions and managing technical risk across complex programs
  • A collaborative leadership style, with experience mentoring architects and technical leads and establishing architecture and engineering best practice
  • Adobe Commerce Architect or Expert certification would be highly regarded
  • Experience with Adobe Experience Cloud, React Spectrum, Kubernetes, Docker, Infrastructure as Code or MACH architecture would also be beneficial
