  • Work on some of the most significant regulatory, pricing and market reform initiatives in the Northern Territory and nationally across energy, water and gas
  • Join an enthusiastic, supportive and high-performing team that is passionate about solving complex problems and making a real impact for our clients and communities
  • Access structured mentoring, leadership development, learning and clientopportunities to build a long-term career in Darwin and across Deloitte's national network.

We are looking to recruit a Manager based in Darwin, or who is willing to relocate to Darwin on a permanent basis, to join our Utilities Regulation team. This is an opportunity to work at the forefront of major reform across energy, water and essential services in the Northern Territory, helping clients respond to evolving regulatory frameworks, pricing challenges and investment decisions. You'll work on complex issues that have a direct impact on customers, communities and industry, while also working nationally on some of the sectors most complex regulatory and commercial challenges.

What will your typical day look like?

No two days are the same. You might be managing a project workplan, meeting with clients to discuss emerging issues, facilitating workshops, presenting findings to senior stakeholders or developing advice on complex regulatory and commercial challenges. You will work closely with clients and colleagues to gather and analyse information, undertake research, test ideas and develop practical solutions that help businesses make informed decisions.

As a Manager, you will play a key role in coordinating project delivery, managing competing priorities and ensuring projects remain on track. You will spend time building client relationships, supporting and mentoring junior team members, and working alongside colleagues from across Deloitte to deliver high-quality outcomes. Depending on the project, your time may be split between our Darwin office, client sites and collaborating with teams nationally, with opportunities to travel interstate to support clients and projects across Australia.

About the team

You will join an enthusiastic and supportive team that enjoys tackling complex problems. We work with clients nationally on regulatory and market reform, pricing and commercial strategy, customer and stakeholder engagement, and broader policy and investment challenges across the energy, water and essential services sectors.

Through Deloitte's broader network, you'll have the opportunity to work with specialists from across the firm, bringing together diverse expertise and perspectives to help clients solve complex challenges and deliver practical outcomes.

Enough about us, let’s talk about you.

  • Experience in the regulated utilities sector, including energy, water or essential services, or experience working with an economic regulator or a related industry
  • Qualifications in either commerce, economics, law, public policy or a related discipline
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex issues clearly
  • Stakeholder engagement experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn information into practical advice and recommendations
  • A proactive and organised approach, with strong attention to detail
  • Experience leading workstreams and supporting the development of junior team members
  • A willingness to be based in Darwin, with flexibility to travel interstate as required
